Tavor vs FN2000 vs SigCQB vs AR vs XCR vs....

I have 3 ARs with another on the way. I've got a Tavor ordered.

The Sig is moderately interesting to me, but until I can shoot one, I don't have a definate opinion...

Well I have an AR, and an XCR. The tavor is non-restricted. The Sig CQB is beautiful, but a restricted range queen. The tavor is non-restricted, but in my eyes, it is kinda fugly....an AUG on the other hand.....

The other stuff is vaporware so far for us canadian civvies, so I will stick with my XCR for killing gophers and coyotes. Down the road I plan to order a 12" barrel for it for some 3 gun competitions. I don't know why everyone rags on the xcr, I think its a great gun

Tavor for me. The PE-90 used to be at the top of the list, but man, a non-res Tavor with 10 round mags... That's hard to beat. I may be swayed if the FN SCAR-H makes it here before i can buy the Tavor, otherwise, I'll stick to what i have stated above.

Adding to my initial post, what sold me is a 20inch barrel... How could you go wrong? 20 inch CQB good up to 300m

I'd love to see accuracy tests and maximum effective range tests being pefomed on all 4 of those things side by side for comparison.

Tavor. I don't even own an AR yet... but I jumped on the Tavor. Because its unrestricted, I can shoot 5minutes from my home instead of the 1hr drive to the range. That, to me, is worth the price difference.

I find the XCR is the ugliest thing in the world. I love the CQB, probably more than the Tavor, but its restricted.

Well since there are only 4 FS2000's in Canada now and the US State Department has just put them on the DO NOT EXPORT list I think the price may clime a little higher than the $3000 mark.

If i had 3g's for a new rifle right now I would take a good look at the tavor. If it felt right and shot well for me it would be a no brainer.

Interesting to read all the thoughts.Keep them coming.
One question ...are the new 223 10 round mags long enough to be used in the Tavor?
I must admit that an unrestricted semi is interesting.
Since I can't have an Aug , the Tavor seemed interesting as well as the FN. However I do understand that the FN's are unimportable ( word?) now for civies.
I do have to admit a strong admiration of the AR platform.
By the way having an EXTRA 3000 laying around for a new toy purchase was purely hypothetical. :)

I think he means the Swiss Arms PE-90 5.56x45mm rifle, not the FN P90 ;)

I meant Swiss Arms PE-90 in 5.56mm! Classic Green, Black Special, Blue Star, Red Devil....not one of those dinky, ugly little rifles that are designed strictly as "PDWs"!!!

I would buy the Tavor first because it's Non-restricted and I like doing business with Can-am!

Next I would get a FS2000 non-restricted

Likely a Sig rifle and finally an AR. After shooting the M16 back in the 80's I never fell in love with the AR platform (except for the AR-10) I realize the modern AR platform is far removed from those clapped out M16's I fired, but it emotional they just don't get me going.

By the time I have 3 grand just sitting around than the Sig in 7.62 Nato will have finally materialized.
