Tavor vs Swiss Arms(Help me!)

- Light
- Charging handle on the left side (Great for drills)
- Non-reciprocating charging handle
- Removable flash hider
- Easily changed barrel (if you have the tool)
- Easy to get at the action for cleaning
- Takes ALL AR mag types (Pmags, 10rnd etc etc)

Cons:

- High mounted optics
- Fixed length of pull (long)
- Tools required to fully disassemble
- Folding sights were not the greatest
- Charging handle was very heavy and stiff
- No shooting off hand with out eating brass
- Limited real estate to mount lights or lasers
- Sling system was not the greatest (I don't like tying my sling to my rifle)

The issues I highlighted above are what concerns me the most!
 
I agree with angry, The SIG feels better for the money on how solid it is built, it can be adapted into a DMR, where the IWI is a very koolaid toy that is meant to throw rounds downrange in a very compact package. I say get both.
 
I own both. Swiss all the way.

I'd suggest geting both in the end. Maybe an FS2000 while your at it.

The Swiss is worth the money. Tavors are not that expensive to make but IWI feels that their price point is what the market is willing to pay for their product. The Swiss Arms actually reflects the cost of materials and production.

I also own both. I had the same dilemma a few years ago. Swiss Arms or Tavor. I went with a Swiss Arms black target. Very nice rifle. Extremely well built. The pros/cons have already been listed.

The bottom line. If you plan on shooting off hand a lot, then get the Tavor. It really is a rifle that can't be beat for three position shooting.

If you plan on shooting from a fixed position, using bags/bipod etc. Then get the Swiss Arms.

The accuracy of the Tavor is actually pretty good once you find the ammo it likes. Mine was showing a lot of promise off hand with 55grain PMC. Not so much with any of the other factory stuff though.
 
After reading some good posts in this thread I've come to the conclusion I want both... but for now I will be buying the swiss arms.

Are there any threads on takedowns/disassemblies? I'd like to see some pics on how this rifle works. Search function ain't pulling anything at the moment for me.

I don't have the Swiss but I have a Tavor.
Some more pro on the Tavor is:
- Its parts is 100% interchangable.
- Other than the slightly modified allen key as a barrel wrench, you don't need any special (custom made tool) tool to fully strip it down to pins and bolts. Not even a vice.
I also think that the Tavor is a more modern design. It takes the barrel as the basic platform, not the receiver, IMO.

I was faced with this decision and I chose the Tavor. The Tavor is way cooler looking in my opinion so I bought it. I have shot a friends Classic Green for hours and had no malfunctions. My Tavor failed to feed 3 out of the first 40 rounds put through it and burnt the hell out of my eyeball by exhausting gunsmoke directly into it. But even still, all I have to do is take one look at it and know that I made the right decision. I've showed it to several other Classic Green owners and one thing is certain. They are more jealous of me than I am of them.
 
I'd suggest buying one from CIE through CRAFM. Price on new ones was more reasonable than the EE or my local dealers. By far.
 
Heres how I see it, the VZ58 is my SHTF first thing I grab rifle.
The AR15 is my room busting urban survival rifle.
The SIG is my rooftop/jungle interception rifle.
And the IWI is the rifle I grab when the lil green men invade.
