Tavor VS Type 97??

The Type 97 is already out dated. It's got a fixed carry handle! That's a no go for any decent form of check weld with optics.

You are wrong on two of your three points.

The carry handle is entirely made of plastic. It sits around the optic mount and gives a guard around the charging handle. You can carry it like that but it's not built as a carry handle.

Cheek weld is very acceptable, especially with you use a low mount optic like an Aimpoint micro.

You guys need to read the Type 97 sticky in the Red Rifle section to find out about the construction and drawbacks to this design. There are some very informative posts, especially in the later pages.

It's embarrassing for me to read my posts in this old thread. I quite liked my Type 97 when I owned it, but in no way is it comparable to the AR15 platform.

I woke up and moved on a long time ago.

There's no shame clobber. We all fall in and out of love with different firearms. We defend the firearms we're with at the time, only to cheat and start a relationship with a newer younger firearm. ;)
