tavor vs vz 58

If money is not an issue. Get a Tavor. Damn fun rifle. If you like building guns. Get a CZ. Lots of custom work you can do. I have shot both and they are both interesting guns. But I have to say I love my Tavor more than anything else I own.

The Tavor trigger is decent for a bullpup. Yes, it's long and heavy, but that is to be expected. It is also smooth and you know when it's going to break. Sure, it has nothing on the Swiss Arms trigger or a decent AR trigger, but they are completely different rifles.

It's still light years behind the RFB trigger as well.

And tavor wins.
ACR is tooooo front heavy.

Nothing beat the bullpup if you have to use the supporting hand to do stuff while controlling the rifle at the same time.

I am not sure that I buy the argument it is a better rifle for close quarter shooting because its OAL is shorter. On the other hand, I do see a lot advantages if I have to turn door knobs, grab/drag people around, crawl in confined space and have to push radio buttons all the time.

The RFB trigger isn't anything to write home about either. Having shot both rifles side by side, I can't say the RFB trigger is noticeably better than the Tavor when comparing them both to the trigger on a conventional rifle (Swiss Arms, SL8, etc.). Sure, you may be able to find certain things about the RFB trigger that gives it an edge over the Tavor trigger, but they're both still going to be bullpup triggers at the end of the day. The Tavor is also a better made gun than the RFB.

It should also be noted that the trigger on the VZ is pretty bad too.

I both.

CZ in 7.62 and keep it iron sights. Tons of fun. Very handy and the trigger on mine isn't bad. Modding the CZ isn't my thing. Optics etc seem like micky mouse sollutions on the CZ. But I know many are into it so that would be subjective.

Tavor with optics or reflex sight. The Tavor is a finer 21st century firearm vs the 1950s CZ/VZ. But they are both fun in different ways. Plus the Tavor is still fairly expensive.

I own both. In a few different barrel lengths.

My Vz58's are the rifles I give to other people when we're out hiking & shooting and they "want something cool too."

Nobody else gets to carry the Tavor anywhere ;)

The restricted versions of each are both fun and pretty similar at 25yards indoors. The Vz makes bigger fireballs is all:

Breakdown:

is that your tavor?

Don't forget the tavor also has the worst trigger ever made.

The Tavor's trigger is only bad if you have shot another gun before.

Just kidding, I do have guns with worse triggers than the Tavor. Shooting the Tavor trigger, you really got to make sure your fundamentals are down pat. It's almost a good training aid.
