Tavor vs xcr.

Zero issues with any of my XCR's either, not that Ive had any problems with my Tavor. OP Im glad you got a chance to shoulder both because really that is what its all about. They are both great rifles. Cant wait to some pictures. Cheers.

"... I can go wrote..." In my opinion, you can't write at all. snicker.
"...impossible to shoot prone..." Ran into a militia plug(suspect he was very new) on a public range, long ago, who was telling his buddy it was impossible to shoot a C1A1 left handed. I laughed and asked him how I managed to shoot 'expert' with one for years. Suggesting you can't shoot a particular rifle from a particular position is nonsense. Go buy the one that jumps out at you. Rifles do that.

That's a good point. Realistically I'm not gonna dress up like Rambo and pretend to be on any missions on the farm. Ill realistically shoot from prone, bench and standing at paper, potatoes, cans and other various targets.

I think the tavor is pretty much impossible to shoot prone? Or at least very uncomfortably.

Standing, kneeling, sitting and prone the Tavor is awesome. Benched or bipod prone the XCR will be easier to shoot. Frankly with both being non restricted and accuracy being battle rifle accurate I wouldn't buy either for benched precision shooting. Use your bolt guns, accurized AR at the range or Swiss Arms for that.

For prone the Tavor is comfortable to shoot. The mag works as a monopod. No I haven't had any malfunctions from this. I also use D&H mags so there are no concerns of bolt lift.

I have to admit I generally consider this a Tavor vs Swiss Arms discussion. Unless you plan in hunting and need more than 223. Then the XcR has the conversion ability.

Swiss Arms. :)

uh, little late and LOP on the SAN is way shorter than on the Tavor, not a good choice for OP's criteria and size.

Nice choice OP. The great thing about NR black rifles in Canada is its near impossible to pick a bad one. Have fun and shoot often.

Hey boys. Xcr it is. Black and 223. Bought the 6.8 conversion as well. Driving home now. Pics coming later tonight. Super excited.

My deciding factor was very easy when I arrived in store. I'm 6'4 and have long arms like a ape. I'm pretty sure Israeli military would kick me out lol cause I felt like I was holding a baby gun while someone was giving me a bear hug holding the tavor. So minus all pros and cons between rifles I couldn't see myself ever getting used to that gun.

Thanks for the help on the 100 threads I opened. Sorry tavor guys but I guess Israelis don't grow a tall as I have lol

Good stuff. You'll have to post pictures. I always recommend checking them out live before buying. In this case it sounds like it was a very good thing. Congratulations. Again we need pictures.

Hey boys I posted a pic from iPhone onto photobucket. For whatever darn reason can't get the URL code on iPhone to share it here. I click picture 200 times and nothing happens. I'm just out getting dinner for the wife. I spend $3500 on a gun and accessories I got to treat her to dinner lol ill post it as soon as I'm home in front of laptop. Then ill post again in a couple days with the accessories installed. Thanks to all the happy guys. Those of you who either did t read the thread or just insist on saying one gun is bad cause it did t fit you. Just stop please. The tavor is military proven yes, well guess what I'm not in military. It can go under water and shoot yes. I don't plan on shooting anything in swamps or lakes. The small design is absolutely more compact and great for close combat and maneuvering around corners. I don't intend in getting in any gang wars, drive bys or dressing up like Rambo and pretending to kill ussr soldiers in the woods. I plan on shooting potatoes and targets and quite honestly showing off a bad ass gun. That's about it. Yes accuracy may be better on tavor but if any of you want to compare your tavor to some my hunting rifles if give you 100:1 odds. I was grossly to big or the tavor I felt like Andre the giant driving the old Mini Cooper. I love the xcr and yes Swiss was another choice. But again for $1000 more just for accuracy??? Again I have bolt action rifles that will make all these black rifles look like super soakers in terms of accuracy. Lets not pretend that accuracy is main criteria for black rifle boys. When I said I wanted accuracy I ment co pared to other black rifles. And the xcr is well ahead of all the cheaper nr black rifles out there.

I appreciate the advice as I asked for it. But after the fact it's over now. Pics coming tonight I promise.

From taking the beating you received from one of the first threads you started to coming back in for another round you have shown yourself to be a great addition to the membership here. You handled yourself well and with class, cheers. Enjoy the XCR, Im sure down the road you will want another rifle in the stable so maybe Tavor next time. Congrats.

If you knew me it probably will be before the summer ends lol when I get addicted to something I obsess.

Here's a pic when I first came home. Took the pic in the free case it comes with. A huge perk over a tavor hahahah

The case is horrible, once you mount any optics the rifle wont fit. You should just sell it too me for cheap ;) lol I do like the cases for some of my smaller rifles. RA should have made it a little bigger tho.

How many of you kept the ergo grip? I think it looks better without. Am I gonna learn the hard way and burn my hand or something later?

No you're not going to burn your hand on the aluminum body, touching the gas block on the other hand is something you'll only do once. If you field the rifle you'll find the rails may act like a saw to your clothes however. Best part of the ergo rail covers is hole in your clothes prevention.

Wanstalls for sure, I was just on there sight. OP you won't burn yourself but lose the ergo grips for something a little slimmer like ladder rail covers. Or if it suits you try to find someone near you to try different forward grips like a Magpul AFG or RVG. I say to try them first because I went thru a few before finding what fit my hand best. Easy to find on the EE and easy enough to re sell if it doesn't suite you.
