So I know it was only a month or two ago I was all geared up for an NVD on my Tavor.

Thats all well and good. But then I saw this guy from the IDF:

I hadn't realized you could stick a thermal unit up front like a day/night system. I wonder how that affects the reticule?

Wider question, who on CGN actually has NVD up and running? I know I've seen a few pics. Anyone have thermals?

ATN gen 2+ is what I've got too Armedsask. Although mines a monocular only so the eotech has to provide the reticle

Icedragon, that is a super slick setup. Does the front mount like that hold zero okay? How is it attatched on there? Usually I see another picatinny mount, but it looks like your day/night latches right onto the bell!

Sure, you can do anything... including

I have a setup similar to Armedsask, except I'm using an Aimpoint T1 Micro with it. No thermal ($$$$ = not a chance).

I use QD rings and a 1/2 riser rail to get the 1.6" of height that the NV sits at. By using the 12" side rail I can lower the whoile package closer to the barrel and have the mount to the right of the day scope. Look close at the pics and you can see two sets of rings on the day scope. One to attach to the rifle and one to attach to the 12" accessory rail. They can attach directly to the front bell of the scope too and this is a less stable/solid way of mounting it.

It holds a zero and can be used to around 8x zoom before the image quality is too low. Hitting pins at 300 yards with the 22lr was too easy:ninja::sniper:

and a 12" rail, two small 1/2 riser rails and a set of QD 30mm scope rings and you are GTG on most regular rifle scope combos.
