Tavor

Thanks for the responses.

I don't plan on getting rid of the rifle any time soon. About how many rounds do you usually expect a barrel to take?

to save you some reading, Norinco will wear your barrel much faster than higher quality ammo. its offen out of spec, and has poor quality materials in both the coating on the projectiles, and powder, so all that crud adds up to accelerated wear in your barrel. Not a big deal if you plan to keep the rifle for years, and are wiling to replace the barrel, but if you go to sell let others know you used Norc ammo, as many would not buy your rifle, if they knew.

don't mean to hijack, is the brass junk too? I did read to inspect it carefully, figured if I annealed it after first fire it would help.I don't mind running it through my norinco AR My GF is in the market for a higher quality AR,reloads should be fine again as long as the brass isn't stressed/cracked?

There are definitely a bunch popping up lately. More than any other times that I've noticed.

There is a real fear out there that they might be prohib soon. I'm not sure why, they aren't registered with anyone....

Don't let the recent RCMP action stop you from buying one of the wonderful NR rifle. Tavor is a nice compact package you would like to get for hunting in the bush.
Just go with your guts.
You will not regard it.

Buy it. You won't regret it. My biggest regrets are that I bought lesser rifles before finally getting one. It is worth more than 3000.00 in my opinion. It is the best NR you can get.
