Just remember that if you get a gen 1 you are likely stuck with the Mepro exclusivly as the parts to make it a flat top upper are gone.

Also I do believe Red Deer Shooting Center has both Black and FDE in stock.
All new tavors will be gen 2. Gen 1 tavors generally have no rail or a short aftermarket one and is set up for a mepro red dot sight. You could however get a NEA rail kit for the front end to rectify that problem. The NEA rail kit gives you a full length top rail on the top and a couple on the sides. That is my tavor currently. If you look up my thread in the black rifle EE sub forum you see an example.
Genetaion 1.5 will have a short pic rail on the top.
Generation 2 will have the full length rail.
I hope I got my facts straight here. If you buy new you get a choice only in the colour. If you buy used do your homework.
