I think it's probably the coolest black rifle on the Canadian market right now.
Is "cool" worth three grand? There are a ton of comparatively cheap semi-autos out there. You can buy NIB AR and pimp the hell out of it for $3k, or buy 4 CZ-858s and a ton of ammo. That said, I'd still buy a Tavor if I had the money.

Isn't the Tavor the dreaded "BULL-PUP" design that we simpletons are not supposed to have?
I don't understand why the retail is so much?

$3,000 seems to be a magic consumer-gouging number regardless of price to dealer plus overhead. The mark-up just seems to be set at whatever will total $3,000 or so it seems to me.
I could be wrong but why a high quality PE-90 costing just over $3,000 and a plastic so-so bull-pup costing roughly the same? Why? Because the cost reflects what the buying public will bear. If people are not satisfied with the price they can always get together as a group and buy that way. Or they can avoid the bother and delayed gratification and pay the inflated price.
Life is full of choices.

waltscandy: bullpup rifles are not illegal, it's bullpup stocks that you can convert your non-bullpup rifle with that are.Basically, if it can fire without the bullpup stock, it's illegal, otherwise you're good to go, like in teh case of teh Tavor. Now, i know it doesnt really make sense, but such is the way with canadian gun laws.

Old news. We pay A LOT more than that, plus our volume is low compared to gov orders.
