Tavors arriving soon

well, I will be phoning tomorrow. I sent an email on Tuesday afternoon inquiring and heard nothing back. If these are not in yet I am cancelling my order. I've waited long enough, have next week off, and if this thing is not going to be at my address next week I am not going to bother, and i hate to say it, but I will avoid canadaammo in the future. I know, they are good guys, but this is ridiculous. I've already been charge 40 dollars interest and have not received the item I purchased. Last straw.

I am baffled by this comment. We have said all along we expect the Tavors near the end of July.
The ETD was July 20, they left on the flight on July 23, arriving in Vancouver July 25, Submitted to customs on July 26.
We now wait for clearance. I don't think we have ever been so accurate in any shipment, ever.

Normally I do not like to make any announcement until they are on the shop floor, especially since it takes time to verify, register, pack and ship the order.

Also, you generally only pay interest if you carry a balance, which is your choice, nothing whatsoever to do with us.
 
I know I'm gonna get shot for asking a question which has prolly been answered 1.77 million times, but how/what do you register afterwards? Is the barrel itself considered a restricted firearm?

I'm asking because I'm tempted to get a barrel as well. Matter of fact, I'm constantly scouring CanAms site to see what else I want to have thrown in with the Tavor shipment.

Interest aside, I was NOT informed at time of order placement that they were expected end of July. I was told only that "they were on the way". I was later informed of the ETA when I followed up two weeks later. I should have asked, that's my fault, but I decided the end of July is fine. It is now the end of July and I asked via email if they'd arrived yet and did not recieve an answer, strange considering in the past responses were recieved quickly. So my question stands, will I be able to enjoy my Tavor on my vacation days next week?
 
June 16th was when it was paid for. Time of order/reservation I am uncertain. I'll drop you an email with my personal information if you could find that out for me. I was looking forward to it, but I guess if it doesn't make it here by next week, oh well.

I ordered a Tavor, ( unfortunately through a local store, but from CanadaAmmo ) back in October. I followed all of the threads, quietly watching and waiting. Imagine my surprise when February roles around and I find out that the store never did place an order with CA, but strung me along for 4 months.

I immediately contact CA and received great service from Paul and placed an order directly.

I have been quietly sitting in the shadows waiting and waiting. Yes, I too was ready to wet the bed when I heard they arrived, but I am also an importer (not of firearms ) and can sympathize with CA about how long things can take. More often than not shippers quotes are never accurate, airlines screw up connections and the wrong customs agent can cost you 2 weeks of tie ups.

Be patient, I have used this weapon before and you are about to be the recipient ( IMHO ) of one of the finest firearms available in Canada.
 
The Tavor is a nice gun.
I have had the pleasure to work with Mike forester in 96 with the trials of the different version of the tavor.
Mike forester is one if the big brains behind the tavor and he deserves allot of credit for it.
Spending years and years of research, development, trial and error.
The idea was to develop a simple stupid proof rifle that anyone can operate , lots of ergonomics.
He was also looking to take out the slack that some AR’s have and are known for, mostly between the lower and uppers.
Some of the m16 we worked with where very “wobbly” . Also wanted to improve durability and when we tested them we fed them allot of sand and mud.
Wanted to reduce the actual lenth of the gun with as little compromise to barrel length which is why he miky convinced everyone to go with the bullpup design

I got a speeding ticket driving home. Worth the money.

I was one of those guys too. I also bought one on the second batch as well then later sold my first gen one. And Yes I will post a picture when I recieve my short barrel. :D:ar15:
 
nah, it's not the wait that kills me, it's the fact that full price was paid up front and I thought "on the way" coupled with a full payment meant I'd have it within 2-3 weeks. I've waited before, but only with a deposit, not full payment. No way in hell would I let a sum of money like that be put down on a two year wait. Sounds like they'll be showing up soon anyhow.
 
I pre ordered the "the other" bull pup feburary 09 and am still sticking with it . But hopefully next week my tavor will arrive , and I can pacify myself with that until the " other" one comes
