Could you please clarify your policy on what taxes you will now be charging on purchases for B.C. residents? The reason I am asking is because you ( Ellwood Epps ) insisted on charging both taxes before we had HST which is now back to the same tax status as before. So far 288 people viewed this post and would probably like to know. Thank you.

BC & PEI tax rates - April 2013

Sir / Madam:

As of 1 April 2013, the provincial government of British Columbia has separated the unified HST into individual GST and HST standards. From this date forward, all purchases made from Ontario by BC residents will be eligible to have the 5% GST added to the selling price only, rather than the previous 12% taxation rate.

In Prince Edward Island, however, the opposite is true, with the provincial government there now harmonizing both levels of sales taxes into one percentage. From 1 April onward, all PEI residents must now pay 14% tax on all purchases from Ontario.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our store directly at 705.689.5333, and speak with any of our staff members with regard to this matter, or any other.
