Anyone one one of these and what do you think of them? It seems like everybody and their dog in the American hunting shows are using them. I'm kind of intrigued by the choice of multiple barrels. The only downfall I've seen so far is the crappy twist rates some of the barrels have.

I too am very intrested in them and likewise, I have seen many hunting shows from the states where guys are using them. I am a big fan of the single shots and the versitility and posibilities are almost endless. Pretty crazy in a way that you could possibly go hunting with a muzzel loader in the morning, shot gun hunting in the afternoon, decied to try to knock some sense into your self the next morning with the 375 H&H then go shoot target with a 22Long in the afternoon.. pretty cool! I would personally like to talk to someone that has one though just to get a feel for it before a purchase.

I don't own one yet...but that will be my next muzzle loader. Pending performance and ergonomics, I'll likely end up with a few additional barrels. Love the look and feel of those rifles.

The thing I like the most about them is there looks. Here is probably a picture of one that I just love and is really making me lean towards getting one. The one pictured is actually a 243wssm that was rechambered out in Utah I believe. They say they are a great riffle for wildcating too..something I am interested in.

I've always been somewhat enamoured of single shots, but the TC puts me off, big time.

For the guy that wants it's features, I say have at er, but they gross me out.:)

Well, Encore means again and I only want to shoot things once...:p Seriously, I dont like the look of them and I fired one a fewe times and could not get used to the shape and feel of the stock.

I have an encore 50 cal muzzleloader and really like it! It seems to shoot fairly well and I think it is a comfortable gun to shoulder. It is a simple to clean seeing it breaks and the barrel removes easy.
My son shot his first deer with it this fall and made a great neck shot at 85 yards.

Nice first deer Mudbug give my congrates to the young man and welcome too Gun Nutz...

I have had a s/s T/C Contender Carbine for years now and have 4 different barrels for it.

It is an extremely fun accurate versatile package and the Encore's can only be better due to it's stronger action.

44-40,in regards to the guys and gals on t.v. using the Encore front loaders and rifles.I beleive they're trying to make a statement to the "antis" that you dont need a full auto with a thirty shot clip to hunt whitetails or whatever and at the same time endorsing and enjoying a very nice gun.Gatehouse ,I gotta agree with you on some of the features on these rifles but after shooting a friends 7mm Encore for an afternoon I think I might get myself one for the wifes birthday(she NEVER comes on this site)

a custom shop 28" stainless fluted 6BR with brown laminate forend and buttstock calls my name...

Good thing you brought up the custom shop...its amazing how many barrels they have. Looking thru the catolog there were only the 20 or so but I guess those were just the "standard" in the custom shop they have all the wildcats and more. I have an Encore s/s in .223 with a bull bbl, when I first bought it I felt a little uncomfortable with the stock design. Within the first hour I adjusted to the feel and now it is one of my favorite rifles. I have ordered 2 bbls for it and look foreward to shooting them if they ever come in. The Encore is very accurate, much lighter and about 5" shorter than a bolt rifle with a bull bbl.
Every one is in love with the Ruger #1 here and thinks they are the cats a$$ but I own both and the Encore gets more use and is more accurate which is kinda the point of a hunting rifle I think? I have never shot an animal that was disapointed with the appearance of the rifle I had selected:confused:
