I got a tc hotshot for my 6 year old a couple years ago and I've been having some issues since I got it. It seems the chamber is cut deep and I get very light strikes with most ammo. Cci blazer works ok but isnt the most accurate in this gun. Just wondering what my options are. I was thinking either getting a new firing pin machine or as a second choice would I be able to get the breach re cut a bit shorter and get the pivot bolt re machined? Just looking for ideas.

From what I recall, there were similar issues with a lot of these guns. I had several of the centerfire guns, and was gonna get one of these rimfires to match. The reports stopped mefrom buying. I'd try a stronger firing pin spring first. Then consult a gunsmith if no joy. Maybe the firing pin is too short or the tip is shaped wrong for good impact? What do the spent shells look like? Is there good contact, or is the impact hitting off-center?

Very poor contact and weak strikes on all empties. Dont believe a stronger firing pin spring will work since firing pin only protrudes so far and rim is cut so deep. I took measurements at one point but never wrote them down. Iirc the firing pin had a shoulder unit that could be machined down to gain more travel
Maybe that's my best bet.
