Anyone have one?

Anyone have an Icon at all?....we know JEC has a few...:D..and he loves them...tell us more Jim....:)

Anyone else have one that they can give thier opinion on ?

I expect to hear all bout how the 30TC cartridge will be obsolete in a few years if it isn't already...blah..blah...blah...yadda..yadda..yadda.....I don't care....obsolete like the Swift and the Hornet....

I have a T/C Classic Icon in 308 scoped with a Vortex Viper, and a T/C Venture 7mm Rem Mag with the same scope. Both very accurate, the wood on the Icon is very nice. They seem like very nice firearms with good actions.

In have a icon weather shield in .308.installed a leupold 3.5-10 vxiii b&c.the quality is excellent and the accuracy is super!.using 150 grain bullets it is sub m.o.a. Three shot groups are at .600 or under.i have shot several groups to confirm.i like mine.i looked at the 30tc but stayed away due to the lack of brass and supplies right now.i could not find any brass and very little factory ammo.i also load for .308win already and did not see much of an advantage to to 30tc.it is faster ,but not much.for the hunting i do the .308win works well.

I've got the Icon Classic chambered in 300WM. Fantastic gun. The integral weaver base was a big selling point for me. The T/C Icon has the most substantial bolt I've ever handled, I like the way the bolt field strips too...

I have 3 Icons. All were originally 308. I had the two that shot group sizes under a quarter @ 100M (consistently) rebarreled. One now has it's second 260 Rem barrel (Classic model with wood stock), and the other is chambered to 6.5 X 47 Lapua (Weathershield model). The third (Weathershield) which came with a factory group of 0.37" is still a 308...and is the rifle I use to hunt. It shoots well for a sporter. It is well balanced and light enough to carry.
I have had two "self inflicted" episodes which TC remedied quickly, free of charge ...even after being advised that I had caused the problem. Issue #1 occurred after a piece of grit made the extractor stick and I used a bit of force to close the bolt. I thought I might have damaged it so I called TC, and asked to purchase a new one. One week later, 3 extractors showed up in the mail (no charge).
The second incident occured when I was bedding the tang on the wood stock...I lifted it, barrel first and it broke a piece of the stock at the tang. I e- mailed TC, told them what I had done, and asked how to purchase a replacement. Was told to contact their warrant guy in Manitoba, who knew the story by the time I called him...and sent me a new stock (no charge). By now, I'm believing that TC really means it when they say these rifles are covered by a "lifetime warranty"!

Have an Icon weathershield in .308. Test target .39, yeah whatever, started with load development, every load through it (150 gr) sub moa and only thing that seems to affect accuracy is how well I shoot. Wish it were heavy barreled for use as target rifle.

When I was looking the literature suggested that the 30TC is pretty much redundant in relation to the .30-06. At the time I only had .308s so is what I went with.

I have a 30TC in the classic Ikon and a 308 Weathersheild Icon. Both are extremely accurate guns that devour anything I shovge in them. My only wish is that they started out at 6 pounds and then they would be a serious pack around rifle.
Sandi shot this fallow with the 30 TC.

tc icon 30tc

I just shot a 6point herd bull yesterday at 350 yards the bull stayed on its feet for 5 seconds then tipped over,I shot it with the 150 grain bullet through the lungs and went clean through. This is my 16th bull all 5 and 6 points and one 3 point,I couldn't believe how fast it killed that elk and it was a very large elk.I bought the weathershied camo 30tc,and the recoil is very mild very close to a 243 I can't tell the differance. My gun also shot o.6 inch groups with 150 grain factory loads, you shouldn't be scared of buying this gun.

the discontinued original model,..blued with walnut S&K Ultrawood stock in 30 TC cartridge..got the last one Cabela's had for $749.99.....$815 on my door...I think it'll work at that price....not much to lose....

About $400 less than the regular price. A lot of gun for the price...a great gun, your gonna love it!

What scope are you going to put on? Mines wearing a Nikon Monarch Gold. 1.5-6X42mm with a 30mm tube.

What can the 30tc do that the 308 can't?

not a thing...I didn't buy it because it's a 30TC...bought it because it's an interesting rifle...not sure if I'll even shoot the 30TC barrel...I think the action and stock are worth the price...

If the 30TC weren't so big at the shoulder I would run a 308 reamer in it forthwith........wonder if the mag will feed a 284 case....30-284?

I've got one as well and have been very pleased with it. Super accurate rifle and the cartridge performs like a .30 cal in its velocity range should. It's new, it's fun.......you'll love it but it is heavy to pack around all day.
