Anyone have one of these? Are they a decent plinker like other tc,s? Also wondering are the reciver interchangable with centerfires or shot gun barrels?

I noticed that centerfire recivers can get rimfire bbls. But on the website didnt see anything about rimfires taking centerfire.

The Hot Shot is a childs rifle meant to be a starter gun

I have never seen a full sized TC rimfire though I know they make them. I believe you might need to adjust the head space so order a barrel and wait

the hot shot has an overall length of 30" with a 11.5" Length of pull. Modeled after the pro hunter which has 42.5" overall length and a 14" length of pull... the hot shot is quite mini compared to it's parent pro hunter. Therefore it will not accept centerfire barrels... or any other barrels for that matter.

It has a hammer block safety that is always on until the hammer is cocked. I hate to use this term but... some old timers have tried to say it "misfires" and when you try to explain that they aren't shooting it properly they get more than annoyed. It's just a safety feature that just requires you to pull and hold the trigger.

They only come with peep sights. However this year (2011) TC is offering a hotshot scope mount. This can be ordered separately to replace the factory peep sight. They're lightweight and great for backpacking.
