So first of all let me just say that i am not an overly wealthy man......
.....i mean the queen pays me a decent wage for the work i do...... but a soldier doesnt make a killing.
So needless to say that when i manage to save up enough money to buy the tools that help in the pursuit of my passion ( in this case trail cams)........i am hesitant to spend, to say the least. So i bought myself two trail cameras in order to narrow down the playing field for the this years upcomming deer hunt........and i just like the idea of capturing stills of my quarry while im not able to be on stand. Im usually pretty confident that i can leave my property in the field without worrying about someone takin it.........i mean hunters, fisherman, quaders, or anyone else who enjoys the outdoors generaly see themselves as part of the same outdoors team...... natures stuards, constanly fighting with the hippies that try to keep us out of the field. well my confidence in other outdoorsman, or at least those who frequent my hunting area( which happens to be within walking distance of my house) has since been shattered. i went to check them a few days ago.....they were bout 150 m apart. They were gone. maybe i should have painted them?......maybe i should have placed them further off the trail? maybe i shouldnt buy trail cameras......or maybe we should just leave other peoples sh#t alone?........i mean .....same team right?
 
Sorry to hear about that. It seems whenever we place trust in our fellow man we are let down.

The singer in my band had his car busted open and some petty items stolen last week. An iPod, couple swiss army knives, some CD's and - of all things - hand balm. He was parked right outside the door to where we rehearse, and our door was wide open. Takes some brass balls to do that. At least they left his golf clubs. :HR:
 
Been there dude, lost two of 3 treestands one season. As the others said, there's lots of less than honest folks MORE than willing to screw their fellow man...

Yup I feel for you there! Seems like its like that everywhere you go if its not glued or nailed down might as well kiss it good-bye (Kinda reminds of the Barracks in Gagetown :( )
 
yup. far too much scum out there, happy to steal what they can. I've come across trail cams and stands. most are on lockdown, but that will only deter a casual thief. If they want it, they'll get it.

The most I do is wave, or make a face. Do unto others...
 
Sorry to hear about your trail cameras. So far I been lucky for I know it is a matter of time. There is too many dirt bags out there. I purchased cheap trail camera so if one gets stolen I am only out $100 bucks.

Nope, there are just as many thieves among the hunters and fishermen as there are among hockey players, musicians, skateboarders, golfers, grocery shoppers or any other walk of life...
 
That is ridiculous! The same thing happened to my hunting partner last year and on private property! Needless to say, security(bear proof) boxes are now purchased with every single trail cam and tree stands are chained up as well. 'Thou shalt not steal'! Man was taught this over 5000 f*cking years ago!!! One would think that it's been imprinted onto us by now!
