The cold bore shot is only in the first round and only one team member will take the shot. but it is up to u guys to decide who will take the shot. also the tem member who makes the cold bore shot will be shooting the first round.

I already have 10 teams regestered and confirmed i have 1 shooter by himself so i can only take 1 more team and 1 more single shooter. i made 10 fullsize mantargets at the shop today. i will hppfully put some pics of them up tommorow. all the other targets are made. just a couple plywood cars to build and were all set. i was thinking of having a steak/potato/salad supper for all the competitors after the shoot the cost would be a extra $20 per person and yes i will have somone cook it all. let me know what u guys think.

Hi Mutt. I am not quite in your league for your shoot, but I was wondering are spectators allowed. So far (for serious target) I shoot 300M at the Sherwood Park F & G. I have 2 target rifles that one day will get out to Gennesse, a Savage BTVS in 223 and a custom Mauser built by Karl Schmidt (K & S arms) in 6.5 x 55. Also could you provide info on Gennesse's memberships/fee's etc. Thanks.

YES spectators are allowed. and i would encourage anyone who is thinking of getting into long range shooting to come out and watch. i try to run fun practical shoots and with reactive steel plates it makes it more fun for spectators to hear the GONG and see the targets fall over. memberships are 70 dollars a year and u get 5 tickets to next years gunshow. which u can sell if u want for 5 dollars each and make some of ur money back.(i hope that made sense)

M77, there is going to at least 1 (me) that is in the same boat with regards to experience......

Both on our team have zero match experience. In fact, I'm a new shooter generally, only got my first rifle 4-5 months ago though I'm 44 yrs old.

Our team philosophy is along the lines of "Hey, someone has to finish last. We're here for the experience." :sniper: That cold bore 700m shot to open is just evil LOL.

For Genesee membership, you can go to Lock 'n' Load (Edmonton) and buy one over the counter, or contact the Canadian Historic Arms Society (CHAS).

Mutt, I'm fine with another $20 for dinner if that's the way consensus says to go.

I'm the other half. I've been shooting all of my life.......in very dense bush.......slowly going blind.......cough a lot......didn't even know that bullets would go 700m except for reading the warning labels on the boxes :D LOL!!!!

I'll let you pick the team name Red. The best I could think of is the "Maybe They Won't Notice Us" team ROFL!!!!!

Oh.....and as far as I know, Genesee still charges $70/year. That's what my renewal was this year.

Mutt, you're doing a great job of setting this all up and what ever the cost is of taking in the full event, I"m in just because of the work you're going through. You already know my partner very well. I just have to convince him to build my gun and his I guess, before the shoot in May.
Load developement time is going to be short this year.

ALRIGHT well as of this morning the shoot is all full. sorry to anyone who didnt get in but i can only run so many shooters in one day. i will still run my TOPDOG shoot this august. but if it goes like this one it will probobly fill up fast. this event we have people coming from sask/ft mac/ and southern alberta we even have an all girls team. i will hopefully be able to post some pics of a few of the different targets or maybe ill keep u all in the dark.

mmmm!!!!! Steak!!!! Sounds good Mutt.

As far as anyone concerned about how they will do, I wouldn't worry. I have only shot in two friendly competitions now and although I did not bad I would have gladly come in last place just to hang out for the day with a great group of people who share the same interests. Not to mention all the experience and awesome rifles that will be there. I'm even going to take this opportunity to introduce a friend to long range shooting. The more people that come out and get interested, the better it is for everyone.

Hey Mutt, make sure you let me know if you and Chad need a hand with anything before the shoot. Like I had said I'm pretty busy until the end of March but April should be wide open to help out. Sounds like a blast!!!

Can't wait.

Dave

thanx for the offer dave. i am trying to keep all the shooters only knowing the information i give them. even chad only knows as much about the shoot as i have posted. and i am hoping that by having it early in the year none of the grass and trees will be grown in. im want to have every thing set up friday night so saturday morning we can start shooting cause time is going to be a big issue.
