Teaser Snapshot of the CSR Interarms Sporting rifle

It seems like it could be a neat rifle (depending on price and mags). It did throw me off when I heard it was a BA when I was expecting a semi but it still could be very cool.

My initial reaction: face palm.

But the more I read, and the more I read into the possible plans for this "line" of rifles the more I'm willing to wait and see. If I buy this, it will be based heavily on price and magazine details. If those return in a positive light, I may purchase to help fund the import of a future version of this rifle that is more........... Receptive.

Read between the line people. This could be a slow start to something very good.

I cannot for the life of me afford 1000$ for this. If they ask less I will jump on one!

My thinking is that these rifles, while they may operate in bolt action currently, might only need some sort of insert to become semi-auto. Regardless as fenceline said I am all for purchasing one to fund future endeavours by Trigger and other importers. It's a new rifle we didn't have before and if and when it comes in with 5.45x39mm I would be definitely in for one for that alone, we don't have any 5.45 and hopefully westrifle is able to bring a lot of ammo in for cheap!

Myself OTOH can't really warm up to the Vz58 platform, so I'm hoping either the semiauto Interarms Sporter or the Type 81 is closer to what I want.

Well... Sure glad I have my 858. This new CCSR looks like crap anyway, IMO.

I've heard this a couple of times and I don't get it. It looks exactly like an AK. In fact, dimensionally, it is exact. If you at all like the look of an AK, you should in the very least like the look of this. There is a wood furniture one as well if it is the synthetic that is turning you off.

Of course its not a AK inside, anyone who thought that it would be needs to be wearing a helmet. but the fact it accepts AK furniture creates a huge amount of aftermarket gear options, And I love my CZ but trying to source parts is a little limited in comparison. I'm waiting for the semi model to come out. But the premature annoucement from Urban Tactical is what has killed the love for this platform. Trigger didn't want anything leaked about it till it was ready, and can you see why? The jackals are killing this thing before its even been held, and their entire perception was based of rumour. If they made this thing a left handed bolt, that would be cool. It would make a pretty cool little bush gun, short, decent deer caliber. I'll wait and see.

What is up with the pull bolt? That is ###. It looks cool but I still think the fun factor is limited. I would have more fun with a SKS.

Not sure if the fun factor would be limited. With practice, I think this action would be a lot of fun IMO. I'm sure with time and technique one can get really fast at shooting this rifle.
So far all the ranges I've visited do not allow rapid fire anyway (which I respect but secretly loath), This action is slower than semi-auto, so you can go wild and still not be technically shooting rapid fire. If you frequent crown land or have private property and shoot rapid fire all day, ya, I can see people wanting to throw it in a lake. Personally, can see a market for this rifle.
With the way American politics are carrying on, and the anti's desire to ban semi-autos, god forbid a ban was to be implemented, in the Sates or Canada, this rifle will be the next most desirable choice.

Dont know if it was posted yet

from TW on facebook

I can share with you that we are working on a semi-auto version but that it is not ready for sale yet and has to be classified before we are able to sell it. This is going to be a product family that has many different models including a side folder, bottom folder, different calibres, etc. This is the start of a product line, the first product, not the entire product line. These rifles will accept AK accessory rails, grips, etc from any company world wide as well.

I'm disappointed, of course, but it still looks like an interesting rifle and I'm willing I shell out some dough to support TW with their endeavors. I think the max I could do though is $700. Hopefully we can alter these to replicate Dragunovs, maybe with a longer heavy barrel and a nice stock, could be a fun little rig.

why don't they make a propiertary mag for the CSR that can hold 30 rounds anyways? It doesn't have to fit AK since we can get them anyways.. you know where I'm going with this.

i bet they are using parts of a rifle they already have going, hence the reason for the AK mags. i can't see them making a rifle from scratch, just for canadians when the american market is so large and Ak mags are a plenty.
