Has anyone ever used a telescope designed for stargazing as a spotting scope??
Was in a pawnshop the other day and surprised at the prices of decent optical and refractory telescopes.
I can't afford a really nice spotting scope but I want to be able to spot my bullet holes at beyond 200 yards. On a good day, if I use Shoot-N-C (or like) targets, I can see the little .204 cal holes at 200 meters with my Leupold scope cranked up to 18 power but that doesn't always work.
Just want to know if a celestial telescope is feasible or not for this usage.
