Tell me about 870 sling attachment options...

Hey guys,

I've got a 870, and i've also got a nice sling that's on 2x QD's that i'd like to use. I see there's a lot of options for adding the QD mounts to the weapon but im looking for more personal recommendations.

It's gotta be low profile, and the slicker the better. I'll be slinging it often so it's gotta work good for long periods of time.

This is what I have right now. Zero sling mounts.

Still need a rear sight, and also a flashlight mount but that's a separate story...

Easiest option: Sling plate
Slick option: End-cap with swivel (there might be a QD version but most common is standard swivel)

Rear: Drill and mount whichever style. Swivel being easiest obviously.

I'm using a Knoxx Blackhawk stock that came with an 870 and a Vickers QD sling. Very usable I found. I prefer to have the sling mounded at 1 point in the rear. Far less cumbersome.

Canadian Tire has a 2-pc sling kit that fits Rem 870. The stock needs to be carefully drilled. The fore end cap swivel replaces the factory cap.

Since your sling has QD on each end, GG&G makes a nice front and rear set. Wolverine Supplies carries them. If you ever get tired of your sling but like the QD option, try the BFG 221. It allows you to quickly go from 2 point to single.

Ok, that's pretty much exactly what I want the GG&G. But $92 + tax/shipping, FFFFFFFF

Just get the grovtec QD to Sling swivel adapter if those things are to rich for your blood.

Yeah, GG&G isn’t cheap but it is quality. However that’s a pretty cool option, thanks for posting that Dilligaf, I had no idea that existed.

I have them in a drawer somewhere, I used them on my Versamax before upgrading the the NC QD end cap. Its a good cheap alternative but it scratches the #### out of your stock !

Yeah. I can see how that could be a problem. My only concern would be the durability as opposed to the GG&G style; fixed solid mount.

The only place I kept it was on my Cz858 back when I used to own one. I used the original sling and added QD swivels on it. Actually worked perfect for that application.

OP, I screwed a magpul QD cup onto the stock 870 mag tube cap, works great. I’ll grab a pic later today if you want to see it.
