After reading/seeing some threads on here about it, it looks interesting.

What licence do you need to do it?

What do you do with them after you shoot them?

Can you use FMJ? Or is it soft point just like anything else?

Do you need to have an call or anything, or does stalking work?

Thanks

You hunt them with a small game licence. If you are in proximity to Algonquin Park, you may be required to get a tag with a prescribed season, or the WMU may have a closed season.
Wolves/coyotes are smarter than the average hunter. Stalking is close to impossible - most folks call or bait. Good luck...

Well if browsing one forum isn't enough, I'm not going to browse two...

I guess I'll try and read through the reg's....

Anyways, the biggest question I had was what people do w/ dead 'yotes...?

most people sell the pelts or keep the skulls.

Good luck on the stalk. Calling is the best way, but even how and when is important. In the winter is your best chance with a injured rabbit call. When food is scarce.

Watch the wind. Coyotes will circle around and come to there pray with the wind in there face so they can smell it.

The coyote is very very smart. you pretty much half to pull everything out of the bag. Best of luck man. And remember, Respect your game and earn your kill.

If you can't put the effort in researching from seasoned vets that coyote hunt on two different websites or let alone talk to 2 different sources...

How do you have the drive to get off the couch and actually do the hunting??

Tell me about Coyote hunting...

Alright then, my son. Once upon a time there was local varmint named the coyote. It was a type of dog as we know it and it preyed on all animals smaller than itself and when hungry would scavenge all manner of food it could find. Often it would gather in packs to take larger animals, similar to wolves. However, these animals are much less majestic than the noble wolf. As mankind population grew, it began to push into the boundaries of the animal world, forcing more animals to retreat further away. Sadly, many species died out or became so small that wise men began to protect them to ensure that those animals would not become extinct. Unfortunately, the coyote, as a master scavenger, did not die out, he actually thrived. You see, man brought his food with him when he came to an area, and threw his garbage on the ground. This, combined with the animals man kept confined for food was perfect, for the cowardly coyote. They eventually grew used to man's presence and habits of keeping animals and began to be bold and not hunt in the darkness, but began to steal small animals from man's holdings, until one day, they began to steal animals helpful to man. His pets, cats and dogs, and eventually even children who seemed helpless to these coyotes.
Man decided he needed to protect his livestock and pets, and especially his children, so he began to bait and trick these coyotes into places where man could shoot them. This began coyote hunting and to this day, man still continues this tradition.
That, my son, is the story of coyote hunting.

And obviously that's what you wanted because you have shown yourself to be less than energetic about proper research techniques. You probably only have one gun, one broom, one mop, one bullet, one hat, one set of clothes, go to one grocery store, one bar, ... etc., since, I mean, why get a second anything if you what you have can't do it all at once or you can't get it in one place.

My apologies.

I'd rather learn by doing, rather then sitting here in the house reading. I just wanted a few basics.

Anyways, I guess I'll go check that other forum out.

Thanks.

Nice eh? A guy asks a simple question to a bunch of interweb experts, and gets shat on left right and center. Instead of sharing some of what you know, you act like a bunch of douchebags, why even bother to reply to his post if you are going to be asshats?
My $0.02:
1) if you can get in with a group of guys who run hounds, it is far and away the most fun way to hunt them.
2) if you can't find a group, calling them will work. I scout at night, listening to find the general area they are in. Next day, go and set up and call, if no response in 20-30 min pack up and move, set up and repeat as necessary. Some guys set bait, I've never tried it while calling. Calling gear can vary from simple mouth calls to expensive e callers. There are also mechanical attractants that are supposed to move like an injured critter. As far as a firearm, until you know you are going to get into it, most reasonably accurate deer rifles will do the job. Why buy a new gun until you know if it's for you. Also in shorter range setups guys will often use shotguns, loaded with either BB or #4 buck.

As far as skinning them, with practice it gets easier. The hides can be sold, hard to say what they will get this year. I don't know if your area has a bounty on them, some parts of Ontario do, and some individuals and some gangs that run hounds do pretty OK.

I'm definately no expert at this, but there are some here who might be able to take a minute to write something constructive.

Luckily, I have never called anyone names on here no matter how inane their posts or opinions may be, I try to be a little more mature than that. No matter what they may have called me. Thank you for your input. Now you can read mine.
Well, actually, I get fairly tired of inaccurate thread titles, perhaps simply organizing yourself before asking the question will help others before they post a thread. When I took communications/RAD-OP course, I was told not to key the mike until I had made up my mind what I was going to say. Kept you from looking like an idiot on the net, perhaps we should remember that here.
Also, when the first post or two offer information AND better links to assist the OP in furthering his knowledge, the OP comes back with, "Well if browsing one forum isn't enough, I'm not going to browse two...", then perhaps he needs to be shat upon. Why waste our time? Someone please spoon-feed me. I don't really want to spend my own time researching this. "I'd rather learn by doing, rather then sitting here in the house reading."
If you would rather learn by doing then by all means, get off your ass and go and do it!! Don't come on here asking for help on how to do it, then say you don't want the info we give you and that you'd rather not have to read it while sitting in the house. How did he expect to read the dang posts he asked for??
Perhaps I should have responded to the OP in a similar manner as yours, crude, rude, and immature. I felt that the sarcasm route was better. I have taken your criticism under advisement. Thank you.

You've got pretty thin skin to be on the Internet fella. I'm not sure if you read past the first paragraph, or if you had to stop due to your lips getting tired while reading, but the info provided was accurate and useful.

Here's a suggestion of how to react when you find yourself opening a thread that it turns out to be something that you aren't interested in. If you look at the upper left corner of your browser, you will find a button that points left. Click on it, and it will take you back to the previous page. Then you can carry on, try not to dwell too much on the two seconds you wasted having to open a thread and then going back.
