Whats the scoop on the P210? I just watched tradex put 15pcs of P210 on there site and end of the day they are all sold!
Its a used gun sold at a premium price and gone in no time!
I'm I missing something here?

That speaks volumes I think.

Lots of detailed info on the web that will be more authoritative than anything I can offer, but in a nut shell, they are just impeccably made and considered some of the most durable and accurate service sidearms ever made.

This is a great reference if you want to do more digging: http://larvatus.livejournal.com/33732.html

Considering what $2K gets you in a new pistol these days, I think $2500 for these is a bargain.

I paid more than $2500 for mine and would do it over again. This one was manufactured in 1953:

I fired a possible with a rack grade Swiss rifle association P210 about 25yrs ago. I am not a bad pistol shooter but never thought I was likely to win the match. That gun would not let me throw a shot outside the 10-ring; something in the grip and trigger just refused to allow me to fail.

Jump ahead to 2008 in Afghanistan and I was bunked in a barracks with a Danish professional soldier. He was an interesting guy - trained to hang bombs on F16s, until the airfields weren't flying, then his job to fight as a conventional light infantry soldier with a regional defence unit, then if they got overrun and he escaped, he was trained to operate as a saboteur. His issue sidearm was a SIG P210, and his rifle a Canadian made "DIEMACO" C7. He agreed with me that they were very fine pistols, and more accurate than most soldiers.

They are a pistol worth owning. Price is an issue, but the quality is amazing. I have 2 x210-2 and a 210-5
America is the place to go for most of the accessories etc. Tradex sometimes has accessories. When you
see them, buy them. I got some sig stuff in America that was worth getting. Factory spare magazines are costly

Swiss-German engineering at it's best!! They're big, and heavy, but INCREDIBLY accurate.

Swiss engineering. The cooperation with the Germans began later with the P22X-series.

P210 are amazing pistols for targetshooting. Wouldn't want to use one as a duty pistol, because the safety is rather awkward. But for 25m und 50m targetshooting, you'd have a hard time finding something that matchs it.

Quality is superb, but it comes at a high price. Not many were exported. Over here in Switzerland they're cheaper, but a used surplus P210 still costs around 1'200.- bucks.

I'm a rifle guy so I had to ask the question. I thought $2500 was lots for a used hand gun.
I have no problem myself to spend money on good used quality European rifles.
Thanks for all the input.

So you can relate then. Sig P210's are top quality European handguns

Just to note, there are plans by Sig USA to make new versions of P210. If these ever come to the market, I would advise to use a lot of discretion - these are not P210, they are look a like.

At least one major change I know of - barrel breach locks on the ejection port as opposed to original Browning style milled recesses. I bet that this is not the only change in both design and cost of manufacture.

I'm not saying new P210 would be a bad pistol, I have no idea. But its NOT original P210 but in fact specifically disguised to be one.

Here we go again........

So is a new Porsche 911 not a 911?

I hope the new US made version surpasses the original just to silence the irrational fan-boys. I love P210's, have several and think they're one of the best pistols going, but aversion to progress is irritating. The Sig X5 locks up at the ejection port and it's easily a match for the P210. People complained about the P210 legend as well, but it's the best shooting of the P210's I've had or currently have.

To the OP, they're a very well made gun that is durable, has a military pedigree, and matches the accuracy of today's best service and some target handguns in original form. It's a combination very few other pistols manage.

Amen. I have an X5 and P210 Legend; very different handling pistols, but it's a real toss up between the two which is "better". Looking forward to the "new" P210 when it becomes available.
