Tell me about the .257 Roberts

My pet load in my Roberts was the 120 Partition, chased by 50 grains of Reloder 22.
Fast, accurate, deadly.
With the 100 grainer, I used 48 grains of AMS 47SB slow lot 10 [Higginson's]
Eagleye.

My pet Roberts load is a 110 AB with RL22 and the velocity is amazing as well as good accuracy.

I also use the 110 gr accubond, but I have slowed it down I use 40.0 grains of IMR4350 with great results

Well, I was born I southern Ontario..... wait maybe you mean the cartridge.
It has a good balance of bullet weights for varmints and deer. I have found that both of mine prefer different bullets but once you find the right one it's golden.
I have also found that full charges of powder do not always produce the best accuracy. It is defiantly a dream to reload and very easy on brass, just an all around fun cartridge and you owe it to yourself to give it a try and find out what the rest of us know. And yes I am also fun to have around...

Am I ever a thread killer?
There has to be more of us that enjoy the Roberts.
Let's hear more tails of the fine old cartridge.
philthygeezer what are your thoughts about giving it a try?

I wanted to try it because I heard it's a very balanced cartridge with decent range. The high praise of it being perfect for deer intrigues me because the .243 never gets a clean appraisal like that. I also like its 7x57 parenthood and think it's safer because I'll never mistake a .257 Bob for a .270 as I've heard can be the case with a .25-06.

But mostly it's because many people seem to fall in love with the round after trying it. That's what happened with me and the .375 H&H, so this is worth a go.

Got hooked on the "Bob" thanks to my Grandfather. Right now I've got his original 722 Remington, a Tang Safety Ruger 77 , a Ruger round top 77, a Winchester 70 push feed, a Winchester Pre-war M-70 and a Remington 700 Mountain Rifle.
It's one of the easiest rounds you'll ever load for if you stick to 100 grain bullets.
Like SuperCub said..it's the perfect deer round,
