tell me about the Savage 25 - worth buying?

hello elim, for the MGM barrel.

carverk, T/C barrels for the Encore, Pro Hunter and Contender G2 are available. while I was quoted for Encore/Pro Hunter barrels, you could contact nine35.ca and get a quote like I did. :)

But he lists them on his site for $510, what's up with that or did you need them right away or something?

well, I see they have some chambering's on nine35 for a lower price, so it could just be the uniqueness of the .22 Hornet that's got this price.

still waiting on Az in Pen to quote me tho.

It's one of MGM's standard chamberings so I don't see that. That 22 Hornet I linked to is $370 US so about $460 CAN plus at most $125 CAN to import from AZand (only $35 for a second one if you want 2) and you're still less than $600 so I don't see nine35's price. Go to the MGM site and there is a "Build a custom barrel" link at the top, they list 22 Hornet and K Hornet as standard calibers for them. They have them in .17 also. You'd have to get them shipped to AZ in the states but I don't see that costing too much, I'm sure they're an FFL. Phone Marshall @ AZ Canada and I'm sure he can run you through the whole deal.

question for you all regarding the barrel twist.

I'd like to try shooting the heavier bullets, so I need a faster twist. would the 1-in-9 allow for stable shooting of a 75g bullet or would I need to go for a faster 1-in-7 twist?

and with that in mind, how would such a fast twist affect the lighter 30g and 40g bullets?

fyi, I never heard a glowing review of the savage 25 in .22hornet when I asked buddy, he didn't seem to think it was working all that great.
