Tell me about Voere rifles.

Anyone??

I knew I should have titled this thread Voere for My little pony or Killer video game Voere. Pretty sad when non-gun related topics get more replies than actual gun questions, and all this on a gun forum!! :(

Basically the 2155 and 2165 are mauser 98 schooner rifles built in Austria. Typically accurate and well finished. Triggers range from the standard military Mauser 98 type to adjustable triggers or even double or single set triggers. The 2165 is a beautiful rifle.

Make a search, this have been discussed over and over, and i've posted detailed pictures of the 2165 Bavarian.
I personally would say older rifles were well fitted and finished, especially the 2165, but i've seen some late work that I would pass on it.
Most of the production was/is made of scrubbed ex-military receivers, while some higher grade versions of the early 2165 used "commercial" actions.
Also, with Voere M/98 variants, be ready to fool around to fit scope bases, as some just don't fit with the standard stuff (like the FN actions) - consistency does not seem to be their motto.
Have a deep look at it before you buy one, because the overall quality is really up and down, depending on what they built it on (remember they rely on ex-military stock).
Anyways, the 2165 in the Bavarian stocks usually are really nice rifles.

These are Voere of Kufstein Austria and I always found their rifles kinda on a par with Parker Hale, similar stocks and actions, but that was in the past, more Euro stock design now. This is not to be confused with Voere of Voerenbach Germany which were a cut above, bought out by Mauser Werks, and are now sold at high prices with the Mauser Name, see also Mauser 201 Rimfire.
I've owned both and the comparable model to the 2155/65 of many years ago was nothing to write home about, accuracy did not approach Rem.700 standards, but it would have been considered an entry level rifle then.

FYI, I always search for topics before asking a question about it. I did searches using the keywords "Voere", "2155" and "2165" but nothing came up about the new production Voere rifles. Tons of info on the Voere of Voerenbach Germany but that's not what I'm looking for.

Thanks for your input

Thanks the kind of info I'm looking for. Thanks

I didn't mean be nasty or else. Make a search for at least 36 months old threads.

Anyways;
The best Voere 2165 are the early ones made on FNH commercial actions, but they are quite unusual here, there also might be some floating around made on Santa Barbara commercial actions. The rest usually is made on refubished ex-military actions (like the one below) of different origins (wich you won't be able to tell, the markings usually are well scrubbed).

The 2155 is the lower grade while the 2165 is a higher grade and may show many optional features, wich makes it a bit onfusing.

Here are pictures of a noice example of the Bavarian type Voere 2165, a nice one, but it needed a base fit to have it work. It was made in 1984 or 85, I can't remember.

The 2155 is simpler and plainer, it is the entry model.

Thanks Baribal, I knew you didn't mean no disrespect.

I was left with the impression that all Voere rifles made post 1987 were completely made in house with brand new parts and not assembled from ex-military actions? Am I wrong in thinking this?

The Voere 2155 I handled in a gun shop sure looked like a newly manufactured rifle. I didn't notice any older markings on the action but I could have missed in seeing them markings.

The rifle pictured is very diff. from my earlier Voere which had a commercial Mauser action, prolly Santa Barbara, this action looks more modern and Euro.

The 2155 and 2165 actions are in fact pure military mauser 98 (complete with thumb cutout), as Baribal pointed out the actions are cleaned up nicely and scrubbed of all markings so that they appear to be brand new. Voere is very clear however in saying that they are M98 actions from various military and comercial sources. The 2165 simply has a streamlined bolt shroud with side swing safety, and a butterknife bolt handle to make it sportier.

Voere also sells parts including stramlined bolt shrouds, triggers, etc. for customizing mausers. These can be bought through Sporteque, or directly from Voere in Austria.

The Voere 2185, LBW, and Tirolerin are entirely new rifles built on proprietary Voere actions.

That's a fine looking rifle Baribal, thanks for sharing. What is it chambered for?

The latest production rifles no longer have the butterknife bolt handle, which is a shame.

It's in 30-06 and was not used much. I no longer have this one in hands. If memory serves right, it was a 750 ish $ worth rifle in the '80's.

Well, personally, at that price tag, I'd go with something else. At least, not something made of a refurbed M/98.... but that's just my opinion...

You can get a brand new Zastava made of modern steel for 350.00 $ (and you can take it with a synthetic stock to have a spare) and customize it with all you want for less than that amount... High grade stocks are easy to come by, good triggers and on and on.... even new sights...

It's either that Sporteque or the Voere website is wrong. Chances are that Sporteque is using pics that aren't up to date on their own website.

Here is the new production rifle. The double trigger is an extra $145. Voere doesn't seem to put a lot of effort into their website so I assume they're still using old stock photos, which everyone else in turn uses.
