I mostly just hunt deer anymore. Our hunt camp is about 10 min from my home, I like to spend evenings with guys, some of which I haven't seen since last year, I like to see the youngsters in anticipation of getting out. Being an X dogger I now do most of the chase organizations. I like to put the youngsters in the best most likely spots for close range shooting. I like to put the older guys that maybe haven't had so much luck in some sneak escape spots for the bucks! I love to sit on a watch & listen to the beagle ferreting out a deer or two, trying to figure out where it's going, trying to figure out their escape routes, they always seem to be able to find a few new ones each year. I love to see the grin on a youngsters face when they get their 1st deer, my sons 1st watch by himself got him two fawns at one time
, my daughter's 1st deer a couple years ago with an old .250-3000
I like when the boys father takes you aside for a personal thanks for putting his son in the "prime" spot to get his 1st deer, little do they know I have already gotten the best reward in the kids eyes
I like to watch the beagles rest in the evening usually taking the prime spot in the camp & they deserve it.
I also enjoy being successful myself on occasion
