I load my AR15 down to only about 2300 fps for CQB. Don't need a lot of power to punch a hole in a paper target 25 yards away. In last match (temp about 0 C) some rounds did not cycle the action. They needed another grain or two of powder.
For bench shooting in the winter, i take the ammo to the range in a picnic cooler. In the cooler is a 2 liter pop bottle full of hot tap water.
For the actual shooting, I transfer 5 rounds a time into my shirt pocket. This keeps the ammo at body temp, so the test session uses ammo at hot summer temps.
