Tempilaq 475 for annealing

idk what type of case your annealing but i chuck mine in the lee case trimmer heas put that in a drill spin the case ans wait till it turns a blue color then dunk it in water

i have only used tempilaq on my expensive cases like the .577-450 or .577 snider never used it on the .303,7.62x54r,9.3x57,
 
Google -24hourcampfire, Barness, annealing, and candle. This should direct you to a thread on using a candle to anneal rifle brass. An inexpensive and effective way to anneal. Many will scoff at this technique, but many, if not most scoff without even having tried it.
 
Barsness is one of the few that I waste my time reading

I find him entertaining, knowledgable, and not often trying to sell something for an advertiser

Found a better product while searching for Tempilaq. Markal heat pens, available in temps from 475-650F in 25 degree increments. Can be found at Acklands-Grainger, Fastenal, and most industrial supply outlets. I use a Benchmark annealing machine and have found these pens very easy to use. If you have a torch in one hand and a drill in the other ease of operation with pens would suck.
