Subject came up at my house over a BBQ with friends. A buddy of mine was saying that all Colt AR civilian rifles that are pre-ban cannot be brought into the US on a Form 6, much like Norincos and SKS's can't.

I found that hard to believe. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Your friend may be confusing lend/lease with commercial prod.
If said colt is former US govt property lend/leased to another country which is highly unlikely then no... it cant be imported on a F6NIA.
Commercial colts are GTG.

Norinco is unimportable thanks to the Clinton admin.
Political reasons

Someone showed a scan of their form six showing that their Norinco 1911 was approved. *shrugs*

I saw that thread... My guess is it slipped past someone at BATF and was approved in error.
'Happens.

Check out the batfe list of proscribed countries.
China is on the list.
If BATFE approved the import of a Chinese gun... They violated their own rule. Someone didn't proof read. Lol

As mentioned by already... Call BATFE and ask.
I'll bet one dollar they'll tell you no-go on Norinco.

Mistakes can be made... I had a shotgun approved one year then the next year it wasn't.
