Temporary Sold Out - New to Canada! Semi-Auto .223 Chimera Rifle!

Finally, received in the mail ... Like it! Was stiff putting together initially. Shoots well, generally moa with factory thus far ... weight reminds me of old FNs lol but LOP etc is perfect for me. I like the full stock ✔️ Settled on Federal 55gr SPs runs well - I have a flat ... its shoots nice. Sako factory a hair tighter. Mags change + drop easy. Put an older Burris LRS 1x4 30mm tube German Illuminated #4 recticle scope on it - was sitting on a shelf. Quick Summary: runs nice, accuracy good enough for hunting (I only have 4x max), a little heavy but fits well and I'm liking it. The trigger is a tad heavy ... but ok. Will see how it breaks in, and lasts etc ...

I see the above references to Magpul stocks for the Chimera. Have they expressed some intention to produce them ?

I'd be interested - I have the Federation Firearms aftermarket stock, but the Celik fore end is meh.

I emailed Celik to ask if they are aware of aftermarket fore ends, and the email bounced repeatedly.

There is a video where they say they are working on a railed fore end but nothing else on it I could find. The rifle it self is a pita to assemble and disassemble new out of the box, mine needs a hammer and brass drift to get the front trigger group pin in and out, same issue with the Allen head pin that holds the trunnion in place. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

Was the same for me. Brass drifts and hammer

Yes exactly. I should have been more specific. It’s not permanently attached but it moves with the bars.
In one of the Australian videos they point out that it is pinned to the bars and is not removable from the bars. I wonder why the difference?

Shows the bolt carrier as being pinned to the bars at ~9:57mins in.

Interesting.

I distinctly remember holding the bolt carrier on the bars when assembling, like an 870.

Just reread the assembly instructions and noticed this "Ensure the bolt is properly seated on action bar." so I assume our versions do not have the bolt carrier pinned to the action bars.

Just landed! The new .223 Rem gas operated semi-automatic Chimera rifle. Get them now while they are still available.

Yes! It takes STANAG and other AR-15 pattern magazines.

The firearm ships with a 18.5-inch barrel (quick twist rate 1:8, thread pitch 1/2×28), two standard 5/10 AR-magazines, includes a Picatinny rail on the receiver, muzzle brake, cleaning kit.

As the Chimera PB-223 makes its Canadian debut, it promises to address the evolving needs of precision, ergonomics, and modularity in rifle design. NOTE: this is not the Australian push-button version, but instead a standard semi-automatic.

This is a Non-Restricted Firearm

Nice — price and availability? Any range reports (accuracy at 100 yds, recoil feel) or photos of the receiver/bolt?

Hi Josh, welcome to CGN.

You can click the link in the original post, the same one you quoted (it's underlined and bold in the text), and it will take you directly to the Victory Ridge Sports webstore, where you will see pricing and that currently they are on backorder.

There are reviews and range reports for the Australian version, but to our knowledge no-one has yet published a Canadian review.

No idea where the reference for a Magpul stock came from.

Celik is working on a tactical forend with MLOK slots, and they may soon be offering a version of the rifle that comes out of the box with both the new tactical forend and the adjustable stock.
