Tempted - $75 SKS + 1,440 rounds

Wait a minute....but the guy who bought that deal says it was 475$ to the door? 400$ shipping/tax/fees?

....oh maybe it was a SKS for 75$ when you buy the ammo.......

Ya but the sks I got last week is better because its had 8 year to age from this post. Its like wine isn't it?? ;) TBh its about double the price for a sks and a case of ammo now. Now quality of said sks has always been a bit of a crap shoot imho and can be debatable. Im happy with the one I got recent as I am the one I bought in 2008. 10+ years wages go up. I don't see it being that much more for a basic sks and case of pointy things. Now these SKS-d, izzys, non refurbed. all matching. That's a collector thingy and is a differ convo. Its still a great buy!!!

First, who says I don't have a time machine. There was a great one on sale at Cabela's, last wild Wednesday.

Second, it is an open question what the best investment is: Bitcoin or bulk SKS.

You'll have to trust me on that.

D.

Marstar should bring bring these in again. When they stopped it was bc prices went up. At the prices today these would fly off the shelves

Think you want a time machine after that? Have a look at the bitcoin thread and the current price

Back in the day, I picked up ten of those Chinese SKS rifles/ammo, Marstar had on sale. By the time taxes and shipping were in, each rifle/ammo came in around $120.

When the price went up to $200, I sold all of them, except one. I'm still shooting that ammo. Spmetimes lady luck smiles at me.

As the OP mentioned, they were all brand new in the grease with a clear plastic wrap around each rifle. The Canpar driver was a bit put out by all the weight. The rifles were packed individually in cardboard boxes, then taped together. The crates of ammo were just stacked on top of each other.

I was home at the time and helped him to unload everything onto a dolly. Had to make 5 trips.

As for bitcoin. In 2010 I purchased 1000 bitcoins for US$800. I had intentions of socking it away and just waiting to see what would transpire. Like all good intentions, that decision went the way of the willow. Getting a password set up for them was a real challenge for me, with my limited computer skills and of course the complexity of the password.

Then, unless you went to Starbucks or the very odd store that accepted bitcoin as payment, they were absolutely useless and it was extremely difficult to sell them.

The darn prices were volatile in the extreme. I sold those bitcoins in 2013 for US$9. The listed price on the market was US$22 at the time, but try to get it. No one trusted it.

It took me more than three months to sell them off and I felt I had done quite well. Over 800% profit over three years is nothing to sneer at.

Of course, like many others in my life, I have 20-20 hind sight. I would have appx US$30,000,000.00 on hand right now, if I had kept them. Oh well, story of my life. I was never meant to be a millionaire.

well I bought 4 back in the day

made my money back and then some when I sold 3 of them.

Like when SIR mailorder closed out picked up a 2 x M44 Nagants I think they were $50 each, sold them for $250

and when WSS closed up shop I picked up 2 x 8lb jugs of powder under $150 each, along with a bunch of other stuff they were clearing out.

buy it when you find it cheap and store it.

Used to use SIR mailorder a lot back in the day, bought many items from the catalog, those were good days. Thanks for the flashback peeps.

Funny that this came back to the top. My brother and I were just saying last week that we should have split a crate of sks's and a pallet of ammo back when it was cheap. Hind sight is 20/20 as they say.
