Gentlemen (and ladies),

I am interested to see / read about "black guns" that have been worked hard.
For me (others may think otherwise) this would be guns with 10K rounds through them or more of centerfire ammo.

Interesting info would include:
make,
model,
bought / built,
how long to get to 10K or more,
style or shooting,
usual ammo,
broken parts,
anything you found particularly interesting?

I have really enjoyed reading articles like "filthy14" and the like and, of course love black gun pron!
Thanks to all to participate.

My LMT is only at approx 7K so no interesting pics or story.... just yet.

Thanks for the link. Interesting read for sure.

Still interested in seeing and reading about guys who actually get out and shoot.

Plus, black rifle pron is always good!

Careful what you post here people, you won't be able to lie in the EE next week and say it has 300 rounds through it ;)

Looks like 5.56 or 223 to me. AFAIK, there is no such thing as "corrosive" 223 ammo :bangHead: Maybe you meant surplus ammo?

No sir, I meant corrosive. Corrosive surplus. Nothing but the best for my baby.
carlchevalier is correct, 7.62x39

I can't afford 13,000 rounds of .223 :)

thanks to guys to contributed to my reading enjoyment....

but, I was kinda expecting more. So far 383 views and 2 posts of guns.
So, I would extrapilate the following:

a) there are a lot more collectors than shooters
b) ammo is just too expensive these days to shoot
c) some people may not own a camera
d) some may be out shooting and havent seen this thread yet
e) some people spend their time cleaning rather than shooting
f) its cold outside

lol. once again thanks to those who have posted here.

anyone else?

Well, you're partly right. Into my 2nd year of being an AR 15 owner. Woke up to 6" of new snow on top of the previous 6", so I spent the am plowing out the yard, drive way and 400m of road to the highway.
After lunch I sorted through 2000+ once fired Norinco and Federal .223 cases that I wasn't smart enough to keep separate from the get go.

Going to go on a reloading binge once I acquire the .223 conversion kit for my Dillon. Winter's good for something besides x-country skiing .....

Keep accurate records of all my gun use. Had a Colt AR15 that was at 16k when I sold it. At that time a throat erosion gauge showed only 1/4 worn. It had blown one extractor, at about 7k and the mag release spring and "T" pin needed replaced about at about 10k.

What about g) Too many guns*. Popped off at least 10K rounds, but its thru numerous guns.

*For the purpose of this thread. Of course, there is no "Too many"

Moe,
Currious to know the ammo used (commercial or hand loaded...etc), and what type of shooting do you do (mostly) and magazine types (issues?) and lastly, was there a significant accuracy loss after 16k down the pipe?
