So I bought 2 handguns from FOC on June 3 and June 27. I didn't get any reference number from them which I believe is a common practice with them. So , I emailed them asking if they can provide me with a reference number but instead of sending me a reference number they sent me this huge email saying they are so busy and blah blah blah and can't give me the reference number but if my order went through then I shouldn't worry as that means my transfer has been initiated. Now after 2 weeks I got this refund email from them about my order made on June 27 that they don't have the gun in inventory. Are you kidding me, it took you 2 weeks to figure this out so nobody at your store gave a crap that my transfer hasn't been initiated for 2 weeks. They didn't even had the courtesy to even give me a call just refunded my money. I hope you guys go out of business for treating your customers like crap. I bought my first ever gun from FOC and I swear FOC will never see a single dollar out of my pocket ever again.

June 27 was two weeks ago, not a month. Regardless, that is still too long to be informed you'd been sold a gun that they didn't have in stock. That shouldn't have happened in the first place.

In this wave of online shopping I've checked out more gun shop sites in the past 5 or 6 weeks than I ever have and I've been quite surprised at the number of sites that inaccurately report their stock status. That's really not a hard thing for a business with an e-commerce presence to establish, and in times like these it becomes actually quite important. The OP discontinued his search for the firearm he thought he purchased only to learn later that that wasn't the case. It's very likely now that he can no longer find the item or if he can it may be at a higher price. That's not right.

Websites should have the technology in place to HELP the business serve their customers the best way they can. Reporting stock inaccurately in inexcusable in 2022. And for those shops that don't even have e-commerce abilities (i.e. a listing of inventory then a statement saying to call to order), yeah, 2022 guys, get with the program!

Thanks, and my biggest concern is that even if I find the same gun somewhere else I'll be behind another few thousand people in line whose transfer was initiated in the last two weeks and might never even get an approval.

You obviously have no idea. A number of large platforms (cough...Shopify) have disengaged from anything to do with firearms. Which have forced small business to go with platforms that do not currently work well with existing platforms ie; inventory control.Patience is the key.

Getting PRETTY tired of Companies BLAMING there to BUSY to give out any customer SERVICE ! Never ! hear this from PROPHET RIVER ! or from Epps or Precision Optics ! WTF is going on with some of these companies ? No SERVICE then just Kiss my ASS - NO money for you ! jmo RJ

I didn't say anything about Shopify. Woocommerce is a common sales platform with inventory capabilities and is pretty basic. It goes up from there of course, but there are many options. If some or even most can manage to do it, those who don't are set to be left behind. Patience is definitely key during these time, but so is communication. And readily available technology that helps the business serve its customers is a must.

Just like the the CFO should get with program? Its 2022 , how long does it take to put an item in someone else's name. As a matter fact why even have this bull#### transfers. Purchase it like a non restricted.

What province are you in?

I have two purchases pending (not with FOC)

One (June 2nd) had a reference number issued at 19 days after purchase (June 21st), the second (June 16th) still waiting on a reference number to be issued.

Ontario CFO has 15,000+ transfer backlog and like 2 people working on it.

All the stores complaining about being overwhelmed and too busy to offer basic customer service should probably hire more staff with the money they made from the 50,000 handguns sold in a week. Oh, can't do that, that'll cut into profits.

I'm in AB. I had 4 pending in total between June 3 and July 2 but with this one now cancelled I have 3 pending. I got 2 approved that I bought on may 31 and June 1.

Have you tried to hire staff lately? Especially trained staff who can deal in the firearms trade? It really is not that simple. Also yes they made money off the sale of handguns but for that business it will be the last money they make off of a handgun sale ever, so not really good business sense to go out and hire and train staff for a business that will not exist after Justin and Jug has thier go at it.
My experience with FOC in the past (3 sales) has been positive. No I never got a transfer number but was not concerned with it as assumed they got the process started. Each gun I have received has come with my name on a piece of masking tape across the box/package that the gun is sold in, so i assume when I buy they simply go to stock, record the serial and other info needed for sale and transfer and mark the box with a name signalling sold.

I made a purchase from another sponsor retailer on crazy day and also did not get a transfer number in any email. The only way i found it was to log on to the sight with my credentials created at sale and look at "my orders" which showed that the transfer number and that it was initiated 2 days after the actual sale. I assume this was because they were busy getting fellow persons who bought ahead of me into the system.

To add insult to injury, FOC closed their store to walk in's.......so it's not like they can say they were too busy helping people at the counter.
