Terrible service

Has happened to me a couple of times in the last couple of months. Computers are not stupid. If the right information is entered, you’ll get the desired results. Blaming the pos software or being too busy to do it properly is unacceptable and ridiculous. These retailers also added a couple more points on the markup and are only seeing the $$ and not customers as people. Being busy used to mean it takes a little longer. Now in this new failing liberal economy, it means piss poor customer service but less money and goods for consumers.

I 'tried' to buy off them More than once actually. I grew up close to that Town & worked in Ajax for years. Im a few hour drive away now..but still they wouldn't 'Match' out of Province stores with FREE shipping, & sometimes their price was a tad higher as well + not matching the Free Shipping elsewhere, for the Exact same in-stock item.
Each time I called to see if they literally 'wanted' my money, as they are fairly close & I used to work on the same street they're located, I wanted them to have my money..they just said No, no free shipping etc. & hung up ... {over $500/$800+ sales} mehh~

I'm not defending them.

But I will say that trying to hire competent staff nowadays is like looking for a honest politician.........hard to find, and far and few between

Getting PRETTY tired of Companies BLAMING there to BUSY to give out any customer SERVICE ! Never ! hear this from PROPHET RIVER ! or from Epps or Precision Optics ! WTF is going on with some of these companies ? No SERVICE then just Kiss my ASS - NO money for you ! jmo RJ

Prophet River was great, they had sent me my reference number in less than 24hrs after placing my order.

The same goes for Trenda, they took a bit longer, but they still emailed my reference number once they had it ready to go.

Well guys I was able to find the same gun at solely outdoors for a little higher price than what I initially paid, but no problem. Shout out to solely outdoors my order was submitted at 8:40 am and I got my reference number email at 9:39 am. This is what good customer service means.

Make sure they get the shipping address on the package right.... they messed up mine and was undeliverable I had to call and tell ups the correct address. Every place has issues once and awhile.

Done many purchases from these guys and no issue. #### happens. That said, if you take the money, you need to make right on sale. I imagine the volume of sales was too much. They even close store to public to process orders. You also cant order from their web page more than current stock. Seems high traffic on those days must of pulled same item at the very same moment of entry. Lets be real, it was a race between gun owners to buy it 1st.

So I bought 2 handguns from FOC on June 3 and June 27. I didn't get any reference number from them which I believe is a common practice with them. So , I emailed them asking if they can provide me with a reference number but instead of sending me a reference number they sent me this huge email saying they are so busy and blah blah blah and can't give me the reference number but if my order went through then I shouldn't worry as that means my transfer has been initiated. Now after 2 weeks I got this refund email from them about my order made on June 27 that they don't have the gun in inventory. Are you kidding me, it took you 2 weeks to figure this out so nobody at your store gave a crap that my transfer hasn't been initiated for 2 weeks. They didn't even had the courtesy to even give me a call just refunded my money. I hope you guys go out of business for treating your customers like crap. I bought my first ever gun from FOC and I swear FOC will never see a single dollar out of my pocket ever again.

Whatever! :)

Wow he's only 10 posts in and the flamthrower came out full throttle - that said, I will not buy anything from FOC they can simply FO

New users can get fvcked by businesses or receive sh!tty customer service just like any other veteran of CGN.

The frustrating part is when people defend businesses when they pull crap like this. "ReLAx, wE'Re iN a buSy paNIc bUYiNg tiMe" crowd are just like the "wE'Re iN a glOBal pAnDEmIc!!!" morons.

That reminds me of the Costco paper toilet buying frenzy. Line up two block long to get a basket full of crap paper. Then a bunch of unhappy client crying they waited inline for two hours to find out all was sold. Costco was ####ty store because they did not have enough..should have anticipated the ‘need’.

It is the same with that gun frenzy panic buying. The buyers created the problem for all gun business, that tried to cope with all that. Not even talking about the RCMP web site crapping out..making it impossible to initiate transactions for a few days.
Defending . No.Understanding Yes.

Thats the difference between a Veteran CGN than a newbie..not waiting to get hit by a truck before getting out of the way.

The OP is right ..he should - in normal time - be advised right away the gun was not avail and be refunded.
But to rip off his shirt over it..na.

You buy a item that was out of stock, took them a while to notify you and get a refund. Annoying yes, but that’s about it. I’m not going to cry about it, best thing to do is just don’t buy off them again. I’ve had very poor experience at FOC also, same thing happened and for some reason the staff that informed me was angry at me for wasting his time, I was very confused, shouldn’t I be annoyed? Either way FOC won’t see my business anymore.

I've had mixed experiences with them - 1 not so good in person, the other good and again in person. The inventory thing is frustrating but I expect it - went to Home Depot yesterday, the web site showed three items in stock for what I wanted. When I got to the aisle and bay, nothing. If I see less than 5 of something gin inventory I will usually call to make sure they have it in store or can find it in inventory so this is not isolated to FOC. But yeah, after that first visit I was tempted tp [pst something similar. Then I remembered that in the amount of time it'd take me to compose an proper email, I could find a couple of alternate vendors to potentially deal with, so I focused my attention on the latter. Next time I went in, the bloke I dealt with was top shelf so they back to even odds on my books - with a vcaveat...

This is, of course, no excuse for what happened to you. But it shows that customer service is often down to the person you are dealing with.

I've bought things from FOC in person and the service was unremarkable but acceptable. On 6/2 I ordered a handgun from them and when I requested a ref number, I was basically told: "trust us, we did it, but we are too busy to supply more info". For contrast, a couple of days after I bought from another shop and was given a ref. number within 48 hours. A month an a half later, I'm "trusting" that FOC actually initiated the transfer.
