Test your P320 and post results

They are a few youtube videos where people get the gun to fire with a rubber hammer. Thats why I decided not to just drop it for no reason... I beat the crap out of it again in multiple different locations with no malfunctions.

The only other test I can do is put my rubber mallet on the groud and hit it with the pistol. That might get the hammer to move. Ill try that tonight and report back.

Well it definitely sure looks like you don't GAF lol. You proved that your particular gun with the APEX trigger wont go off when beat and you proved the slides are securely fastened in the Sig P320.

Interesting results

I just wanted to be 100% sure I did my due diligence before taking my pistol to class and using it around other shooters. adding a few scratches is a small price to pay to be on the safe side.

I have the APEX Enhancement Trigger, so it didnt change the pull weight at all. not sure if the Advance Flat trigger would yield the same results.

I'm not advocating that you put ammunition in the pistol, but do you think the weight of a full magazine adds anything to the equation?

I was thinking that a rubber mallet has a rather resilient surface and that a ball peen hammer would be more 'testing.' Or you could let Sig fix the thing for you, once it is proven they can be trusted to do that.

Didn't glock have a similar voluntary exchange thing for their recoil springs back in 2011? #### happens, and companies fix the issues.

Glock is known for doing it for even minor defects, and before the public even notices a problem. It seems like SIG tried to cover this one up and perhaps still are, which doesn't look good on them.

Primed round, and full mag may make a difference but doubtful.

The only factory model to not do it consistently is the x5. It comes with a flat trigger that weighs 0.3 oz less.

Due to Sig Sauer's recently announced "voluntary upgrade" of the Sig Sauer P320 pistol, announced on August 8, 2017, Apex Tactical Specialties, out of an abundance of caution, has chosen until further notice to suspend sales of those aftermarket trigger products specifically designed for use in the Sig Sauer P320.

Additionally, for those customers that have purchased an Apex Curved Advanced Trigger, part# 112-022, due to how closely the Curved Advanced Trigger's design reflects that of the current Sig Sauer stock factory trigger, we are asking customers to stop using this trigger and to please contact Apex Customer Service at (623) 322-0200 of Guns@ApexTactical.com to return the trigger in exchange for credit towards any one of our Apex products.

Regarding the Apex Flat Advanced Trigger, part# 112-021, and the Apex Flat-Faced Action Enhancement Trigger, part# 112-020, Apex engineers have conducted controlled drop tests at the -30 degree angle with each of these flat triggers and have not had a discharge occur. HOWEVER, because this is too small a sample, and due to the fact that Sig Sauer has indicated that its voluntary upgrade will include more than just the trigger, we advise caution and warn against accepting use of either of these two Apex triggers as solutions to the factory drop safe issue.

The story continues...

There is at least one video of a primed round with a full magazine being dropped onto carpet and the pistol fired.

What seems to be missing here is that it isn't just the trigger that is the problem. The trigger does NOT depress completely to the rear like it does when you shoot it. The trigger is depressing enough to disengage the striker block and then the striker and sear are separating. This is why SIG is replacing the trigger and the striker system.

What's comical is the bogus tests being done by individuals in an attempt to prove that this unsafe design is in fact safe. NEWS FLASH!! SIG HAS ADMITTED IT IS FLAWED. That would be the guys who DESIGNED THE GUN admitting it's flawed. Uncotrolled home testing and the very small sample size means nothing. ALL 320 pistols are defective and unsafe.

SIG tried to hide this from the public and got caught. Apex is simply doing what is right after hearing of the news.
