Just to start I will tell you I have no contact to the company of the scope I put through the pace this Sunday at Orono.
After a conversation with a local store owner from my area the end result was an agreement to take home and beet up a Tasco Varmint 6x24 44mm scope to see the effect of heavy recoil would have on this glass, after hearing stories through the store owner how guys have bought this are having good luck with them. Well I elevated the game and the playing filed my taking mu VX111 off a rather snappy 7mm RUM loaded to the nutz.

My first thought of this was the glass was not bad and eye relief not bad either considering the rifle it was on and manageable.
I set the scope on 12 power and adjusted the objective to 100 and got read for the beating my goal the scope was gong to come unglued that or my shoulder. I took 50 rounds and the gun rather new needed a good break in any way. I shot a group of 5 shot than zeroed the point of aim to 1" high at 100 and proceeded to dump a 15 shot group at the target over a 2 hour period letting the barrel cool. OK in my mine whats 20 shots but lets continue I traced over 5" than back 10" that tracked up 5 and back to zero 45 round through the gun 4Hrs later I tracked it back to Zero and the last 5 shots group 1 1/4 inches at 1" high at 100 HUMMM i said and drew a few guys in to have a look at was going on, I failed in my at temp to discredit the tasco.
Next weekend weather provided I will but it on a 22-250 than back on a magnum 338 perhaps, so far the $200 scope is working as best you could ask, lets see after 200 rounds?

I have a couple of those scopes and I've had decent luck with them too. I have one on a Ruger 10/22 and one on a K31.

I bought a bunch of these on a deal (get them by the box kind of thing), and I had about 50-50 luck with them. Once I put one on a featherweight 300 Win Mag, and three shots later the entire elevation turret screwed out of the scope! They are an alright cheap scope, but don't expect the average one to stand up to any real recoil. FWIW - dan

They're alright, I suppose. Fit and finish is garbage, and optics lack resolution and clairity, and are very dim with SHORT relief at full power. BUT - they're accurate. They track well, hold a zero at differing zooms, and tolerate recoil reasonably well (especially on varmint guns for which they are intended).

Overall, not a bad buy - indeed, you probably get MORE than you pay for with these guys - but still a low end scope. Next time 'round, I've been meaning on trying a Mueller Eradicator...

I just went through this whole thing with a tasco on my 7RM , It would hold zero for the first 2 shots but after that it all was over the place , So I threw back on my VXII 3x9x40 , Tasco are a decent bang for the buck , But not on magnums.
