When i go to the club, I love shooting the steel plates. But the plates are hit or nothing. Not much feedback if you miss.

So when I get a new handgun (probably from the EE) I shoot some paper so I can adjust the sights.

Today I tested a SAM 1911 (45ACP) and a SA 44 Mag.

Of the 5 shots I fired from the 1911, 4 missed the paper and one just barely kissed the edge, so I knew I was missing to the left. I drifted both the front and rear sights to the edge of the dovetails and the result was centered hits.

Then I tried the 44. The nice thing about the bigger calibers is that you can see the hits without needing optics.

I fired 1 shot and quit. (25 yards)

We were at the range one night and were getting ready to call it for the day. One mag left in my .45 1911 so I line up on the 200 yd gong (18" plate), raise it to about 3 feet over the gong, slowly press trigger, BANG.........BONNNNNNGGG "Okay we're done":cool::cool:

SAM's ain't too bad, OEM recoil springs are pretty light and could use replacement, and they benefit from a tighter bushing. I use to order custom cut bushings from EGW, but they gave up on shipping to Canada.
Have a 9/40/45 from them, with a little work they shoot great, function was always excellent.

Ganderite, if it was anyone but you, my reply would be “even a blind squirrel finds the odd nut, let me see you do it again” but seeing the targets you have posted in the past I’d say the sights are just fine,

If you are wanting more EGW stuff there is a company in Texas that will export EGW's stuff (http: //jlnfirearms. com/) I have used them to bring in some revolver EGW red dot mounts and I would use them again if I needed any more.
