I've searched the websites looking for some comparison reports between the 9mm and .40 versions of the CX4 Storms but no avail. Can anybody provide a link or direction here? Viewpoints that might suggest which is the better buy, in terms of performance ?

I don't think that there's much (if any) difference between the 9mm and .40cal Storms as far as performance and accuracy are concerned. The only difference is the somewhat stouter recoil of the .40cal model. The fact that I already owned a 96 Vertec (.40cal of course) determined which caliber Storm I bought, as both guns share the same magazines.
If you have no real reason to prefer the .40cal, I'd suggest going for the 9mm for economy only.

If you just want to buy it and do nothing else to it I'd get the 9x19.
If you want to do a Non-Restricted conversion or some mods I'd get the .40S&W; if I win a lottery I want to get the 40 version and then get multiple barrels made in 9x19, .40 and .357sig (you couldn't do this with the 9mm version)

Ellwood Epps did several conversions of the 9mm. A couple came up on ther board. don't know if there are long barrels out there in .45,
for hunting I personally would get the .357 sig - more velocitym so more effective range especially for groundhogs & such. I woukd pick the .40 over the 9mm - Heavier bullet.

But I don't understand the .357sig discussion, as the storm is only available in 9mm, .40, and .45ACP. Is there a .357 conversion for them? Where can I find out more? What kind of .357 mags work? Can I get 10 rounds?
