Just a reminder that our farmers/landowners do so much for us, it’s best not to forget about them especially at this time of year…
(cooked this morning)This is what 3 single goose breast and 2 lbs of venison can give you. Besides the cooked meat (which is given throughout the year as well) at Christmas, I will give them some sweets, beer and what is probably most important, my time :) …oh don't forget their kids should get something too....

Feel free to add your gifts/ideas...
Have a safe and wonderful Holiday.

I have already mailed out a multitude of Christmas cards to landowners thanking them.

Great thread! A little over a week ago (Dec.12) I made my annual run out to groundhog country...the back of my small pick-up loaded with fresh pies (ordered from a top-shelf bakery in town) and some goodies from the LCBO and Beer Store. :) Took all day, but a good portion of that were the lengthy chats, and getting caught-up with these friends I haven't seen since August. Normally, it's a solo venture (and I still enjoy that immensely) but knowing there were likely to be baby lambs, I brought my 2 younger kids (11/14) and Mrs. .22LRGUY along with me. I knew the farmers would be receptive to the kids holding them, and, that they'd never met my wife but often ask about her. It was truly a wonderful day, as expected.

At every stop, the farmers told it should be them buying ME gifts for all the groundhogs I dispatch on their properties...but I tell them their properties are my "home-away-from-home"...and that I appreciate both the hospitality, and trust they place in me. I'm welcome to hunt for anything else on these properties too~an offer I plan on taking them up on. While the day was about thanking THEM...I did end-up with a nice frozen chicken, and a nice vac-pac of very spicy, very smoky pepperettes. Very fine folks, and they quite honestly feel like family to me.

All the best to you guys and your families~Merry Christmas!

Love to see it! The closer these two groups can get together, the better for all of us.

You know, I'm not really sure which group is getting screwed over by the government worse: the gun owners or the land owners? Either way, this "coalition" is a big first step to entrenching property rights in this country.

We always have. Still drop off a turkey every xmas to one lady and we have not hunted her property for 12 years. Our families have become good friends as a result of an initial knock on the door I made about 25 years ago asking to hunt their land and dropped off the 1st turkey then
Another spot we go up and help them with their haymaking every summer which they appreciate. I have to be honest the food and beer after it is done makes that a easy chore. :)`
