Congrats on the new shotgun........that is the good thing about Canadian Tire , they are such a large corporation , and sell so much volume , that the little bit that they may have lost on that shotgun would not amount to anything in their eyes ; just look at all the stuff that they accept on return that is not resaleable.....Walmart is the same way.....their sales volume is so high , that they do not need to sweat over the nickles and dimes...

I called in- know someone who was going to pick it up for me if there were more- and apparently it was a FORMER employee's error.

I don't think you understand how CT works.
The stores are independently owned by single entities. A businessman/owner had hundreds of dollars taken from his pocket as a result of this particular error.
The store owner buys merchandise on his own bankroll. Products are then priced with a 30-40 percent markup to make a profit. The store owner likely bought that 1k SX3 for $700. ($300 profit). So not only was the profit lost but he's also out around $350 because he only got $350 out of the gun. So in all, 650 was lost on the gun. Almost the entire venture.

Non resellable returns are often returned to vendor for credit on the store owners next purchase order as well. Some goes to the garbage, but every dollar and cent is important to independent business owners.

You should send us all copies of the receipt so we can go in and say.. I'm not paying 1k for that... my friend just bought one from another ct for like $300... I want a price match
 
You should of never of told the guy. I've gotton a couple of under priced deals in my time and I just "make for the door" and come back latter looking for more.
 
Yeah the Clayton Park store I walked in 1 days couple SKS, some 22s, ATR Night Train and 2 single shots. Couple days later was ALL SKS/Mosin/SVT ( nothing else ) Couple days later THIS HUGE RACK OF GUNS. I was happy. Funny still can't buy any AMG wiring in any size.
 
The retail laws in Ontario say that the price on display is the price you pay, Bought a Flatscreen wall mount from future shop, I had done some shopping on Kijiji and found nothing did the online price check and finally caved and went to the store and because I had done research I found a mount worth twice as much as the sticker, sweet grabbed it and the lady at the till said oops sorry wrong price. I almost took it back when the wife piped up about retail laws, so I said I would take the rest as well when I got back to the shelf the manager was changing the price.

Canadian tire is famous for a nice sale in the flyer while quantities last, meanwhile they only ever had one at a different store, I don't feel bad for Crappy tire, I feel good that they slipped, and you got a deal, good on you.
