thank-you Questar (glock)

Just back from 250 rounds at the range.

PMC produced a wimpy, orange-coloured comp port flame that looked like it was wafting up from a tiki lamp. Mild report, and while it worked the slide fine, sometimes it did not lock back at the end of the mag.

American Eagle produced a bright white flash from the comp ports, a nice crack and worked the gun perfectly.

I've always disliked PMC due to the soot, now I have other reasons to not use it.

I managed to put three touching at 10 yards - it's reasonably accurate, limited by the trigger and my eyes.

When looking into the barsto barrel earlier, it was quite clean. Not mirror-bright like a match barrel on a, say, walther gsp expert, but no chatter marks either like on most service pistols.

The comp worked well, limiting muzzle rise and reducing perceived recoil. I've shot a 19C before (in the US) and knew what to expect. If you haven't shot a comp'd gun before, it's a revelation.

It isn't clean anymore :D and the pmc clouded up the light as well.

To answer some questions:

Shoot a mag for me, tell me how I did
You did great, Dave :) All rounds on paper even rapid fire while learning the trigger reset.
What's with you and lights on guns??
I've already (sort of) addressed this one, but 'practical' issues aside (remember the last match where the lights went out milliseconds after I shot) ... toys are fun.
I'm going broke trying to keep up
Buddy, that's why they invented overtime.
PM me details!
Basically, email Questar and tell them what you want. Get a quote, pay half up front, pay the rest when the gun is in and then it shows up at your door shortly after your CFO approves the transfer. Great stuff. I found the pricing fair, but I'll let Questar address that directly with you.
can I ask when you originally placed the order
Late October. Since the comp'd barsto was a special order, it took some time - but that's barsto, not Questar.
so won't it make your draw more difficult?...for IPSC match in low night
I shoot IDPA, so at a match I'll have to a) put a non-comp'd barrel in it and b) not use the attached light (hand-held only). Yeah, it's a bit slower with the light, but LCF goes up and I'm pretty quick for a 'wannabe' anyway.

And now for the new pics. I'll be spending more time cleaning than usual.

Note the sooting on the bezel of the light:

Im still holding out for the Kimber .45's:D

+1

I am torn on my next purchase:

1. Grand-Power P1 (if they come to Canada with long barrels)
2. Glock 19 or 26 w/ Barsto barrel
3. Compact Kimber (just 'cause they are so frikin ###y)

:( Oh great, sure, just send me back to work. At least its only a glock so I can resist it's coolness fairly easy. That being said, you better bring it next tuesday, I'd love to run a mag or two through it.

And I've shot with you, your pretty quick for anybody when your on your game....(you guys oughta see him speed loading a 625 with moon clips!)

Questar is Smokin' Faaasssst!!! Mark must work in the CFO's office PT! Love the Glocks - especially that Subcompact 357SIG.

Glock 19

I'm a huge fan of the Glock 19. Even so it's chambered in the 9mm pussy round. Anyway, I'm 12(6) so if I can't eventually find a nice original M19 one from Questar with the Bar Sto would be the way to go. Only sticks out a bit and still maintains 99% of the uber cool look of the Glock 19!

It's now got a doctor optic on it and I'm working up a load... Just gotta figure out where I'm gonna use it or maybe it's just gonna be a "fun" gun"
