I recently purchased a used rifle with a Vortex Diamondback scope on it. The scope had a small problem with the index ring under the turret, so I called Vortex. They said it would be covered under warranty and that I should mail it to them. I did and they repaired it and shipped it back in one day! In a world where getting service on a product is so difficult, Vortex sure stands out from the crowd. Thank you Vortex!

My cat chewed through one of my Vortex scope covers. I told them the cat ate it and it was completely my negligence, I would like to pay for a replacement. They sent one out to me for free.

That's awesome! I love this kind of stuff. I'll bet you're a Vortex customer for life now and all it cost them was a couple of bucks. Better than any marketing dollars and, even better is that I'm more likely to buy a Vortex product too so the effect is multiplied.

I was a big fan before hand, but it certainly reminds me why.

My Ranger 1000,1200? quit ranging so I sent it out for repairs. Two weeks later I had an brand new Ranger 1800 in my hands. The old one was discontinued so they give me an upgrade. Wasn’t expecting that!
Makes me feel comfortable with the 3 scopes I have of theirs if something goes haywire.

Yep good marketing. Also their warranty is really their quality assurance program.

I love when companies go the extra mile. Costs them nearly nothing, and really does create loyalty. Some of the reloading press companies have great warranties too, i’ve found.

Just bought a Diamondback yesterday, my second Vortex.

There is always the Ford/Chev debate between brand names, but I’ll always buy from a company that will take care of a customer.

After the 3rd time paying postage sending in faulty scopes I got fed up. I had a viper 1-4 that wouldn’t hold zero. The warranty replacement failed shortly after.

I'd rather buy products that don't need warranty rather than brag about how easy it is to get.

True, but the peace of mind if you take a tumble in the mountains or a roll on the quad and don't need to purchase another to replace it is still nicer than buying a swarovski twice.

They're warranty program has done so much for their sales, one of the vendors on the site has said something to the effect of "we see almost as many vortex's sent for warranty than the others combined, but we also sell more than the others combined, and alot of the vortex optics are in from negligent damage"

Its pushed Bushnel, Nikonand others to up their ante in their warranty programs to try and keep up with them as a competitor, so that has its benefits as well.

You're not getting lifetime, no questions asked warranty for nothing, it's built into the price. The cost of a diamondback, crossfire (or other Chinese/Filipino made optic) is extremely low. I've never had issues with a Nightforce, Japanese Bushnell, higher quality Burris or Leupold VX3 and better.

for trucks that is why i always buy local ... if a problem arise they know where i buy it ....

for the scopes never went with vortex as they always failed around when you need them the most. what the warranty is good for in the middle of nowhere ...

a little like. i had leupold vxII that failed but never the higher ones and bushnell elite is a gem not known: only the users of them know what they worth. a shame soon no more made in Japan.

And you know this from experience? I sent my20+ year old Swarovski in to get the little hawk logo replaced, nothing else was wrong, just a cosmetic thing. They disassembled the scope, changed a few parts, sent it back........all for free. They said it was probably time for a tuneup.

I'd rather buy from companies that don't need warranty often and when they do, they actually have a product that's built with quality parts and they fix it rather than replace it with another POS.

The countless Vortex warranty threads on here have been the biggest persuasion for me to never own one.

I've talked to some fellow hunters/shooters this last week-end and discovered that there is a great number of certain scopes going back for repair/replacement.

There was a common understanding that when you receive the used optics back from "service" that there is no note, or whatsoever, stating what was done to inspect/repair them.

At this point we were asking each other - would you put the POS back on your trusted rfile?
