Thank you Vortex

And you know this from experience? I sent my20+ year old Swarovski in to get the little hawk logo replaced, nothing else was wrong, just a cosmetic thing. They disassembled the scope, changed a few parts, sent it back........all for free. They said it was probably time for a tuneup.

I'd rather buy from companies that don't need warranty often and when they do, they actually have a product that's built with quality parts and they fix it rather than replace it with another POS.

The countless Vortex warranty threads on here have been the biggest persuasion for me to never own one.

Blah blah blah, swarovski doesn't replace negligent damage. You cant drop it off a cliff and expect them to replace it. Vortex sells 20 times as much, and replacing negligent damage has been part of there marketing budget.

However, Swarovski does make nice crystals to hang from your window or to put in your little china cabinet at home, so they do have that going for them... hehehe.

But don't let me get in your way for hating chinese people because of their government and poverty.

When I drop my scope off a cliff my hunt is ruined.....when my pos scope fails my hunt is ruined. I’d rather take the chances at having to pay for the scope I drop off a cliff and not worry about it failing randomly.
The lifetime warranty is an effective marketing gimmick.

Unlike Vortex, Swarovski actually provides a shipping label so you don’t spend your money on postage.

Don't smoke, don't try and disguise racism as hatred towards foreign markets either.

The comment that it is an ineffective market campaign is not even half witted, their sales are over the top and have been for years.

If you love your Swarovski so much why are you trolling vortex threads?

Did you seriously just pull the race card on an optics thread?

Vortex is an American company that manufactures/assembles its products all over the world, just like many other companies. You can build the same crap in Wisconsin as you can in Beijing, there's nothing racial about it.

My experience with vortex has also been terrific. I returned a Vortex Viper with a cracked lens. They received it on a Friday afternoon, they shipped me a complete retail package on the same afternoon and I had it in my possession the following Tuesday. The original red dot had seen a lot of use and always served me well.

Vortex doesn't make anything that I have looked through that comes even remotely close to the optical clarity of Swarovski. Granted I haven't tried the razors. I have owned several Viper scopes and 1 diamond back and optical clarity leaves a lot to be desired. Sure the warranty is good. But when I'm trying to judge a Goat or a Ram a vortex Viper isn't going to compare.

Oh good, the other elitists have arrived in the vortex thread to remind us of their superior optics. Tell us more about your sheep hunting with expensive glass.

Vortex makes high end stuff as well. Comparing other higher end scopes to diamondbacks and vipers isn’t exactly a fair comparison. I’d say the vipers are priced a little high for what you get actually. I currently have a razor AMG. To my eyes it had a better image and clarity than my old s&b. Not needing both, I kept the amg. Honestly, the quality of the optic is almost as good as my Tangent Theta. It just falls a little short on the parallax and eye relief.
I bought a used amg from a vendor that had been abused. I sent it into vortex for an assessment. They said the internals were crushed from over tightening of the rings. They replaced it no questions asked.
On another amg I had a few years ago, the previous owner had chewed up the scope caps. A quick call to vortex had a new set of caps and an L-tec turret tool on the way. They even threw in a T-shirt because it took a few weeks to get them out of the states.

I had a Sparc Gen 1 go down on me and they sent me a Sparc2 as a replacement same day I phoned in and before I got the old one in the mail to them. I have since bought another Sparc2, a Strikefire and a Venum 6MOA for my pistol. The warranty is outstanding. They get my Optic dollars.

They also seem to have qualified folks on the phone which makes the whole experience worth while.

Take Care

I own a Leupold Vx3i 3.5-10x40 CDS
I own a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 since 2004 (Started its life on a 17HMR, then 223, 204, 308 and 6.5 CM now sits on my recent 93r17)
I just placed an order with a site sponsor for a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40

I know people that praise Vortex etc etc they just don't do anything for me - even though I seen/handled a few. Just my two cents from this side of the woods. :dancingbanana:

Vortex has a great warrenty. To bad ive never had any of their scopes last thru sighting in to take hunting. 4 scopes in 3 lines. None made more than 9 shots before failing.
