I would like to say thank you to Jerry. I made 2 calls to him today. The first call was to discuss a build with him. That call lasted about 40 minutes. The second call was to tell him that I was going with a different rifle builder. That phone call lasted 25 minutes. And even though I was taking my business elsewhere he still was willing to give me advice and pass on his knowledge. I really learned a lot from both phone calls to him. I am already starting to plan my next project and the phone call will once again be to Jerry at Mystic Precision. Thanks Jerry, I appreciate the time you took to talk to me. Rod

Jerry is top notch when it comes to service.

From your brief story above I can tell you, Jerry handled it better than I would.

Good luck with the build.

Jerry is a very patient man. I know this because I have been pestering him off and on for the last 3 months on a scope set up.....I am having trouble making up my mind and he has always been very patient and willing to respond even when I may have asked the same questions more than once.

I still haven't made up my mind, but when I do I will be going with Jerry. Nuff Said. :D

Same here. He spend quite a bit of time writing e-mail about my Savage Axis build. Ended up getting a couple of things from him, and when I need anything else it will be the first place I go look.

I pestered Jerry with about a dozen emails over the last couple months. Every time he answered quickly and in great detail. I ended up purchasing a Sightron 8-32 LRMOA and some rings and mounts. If I need it, and Jerry carries it, he has my business.

"JERRY!! JERRY!! JERRY!!" lol (jerry springer audience) :D He does a great job. I just need to be able to afford to bed my rifle and put a nice new fluted bolt on my savage and he will have some more work :)

Bedding a savage got to be the easiest thing, as to bolt fluting!

Top one done with cutting wheel, while the bottom is done with an end mill.
Talk to Jerry , he set you up!!!

Another thumbs up for Jerry. Helped me out a lot when looking for my Sightron SIII. Very patient and always willing to share information. As someone mentioned in another thread, online retailers succeed or fail based on their customer service. Jerry does an excellent job, and I wish him and his business well.

I did. He offered me a bolt that came pre fluted but the flutes are far to thin and not deep enough. Did you get Jerry to do those flutes on those bolts? Are they savage? Jerry I think mentioned he doesn't flute the factory barrels anymore but I can't remember what reason. I was good for bedding too with Jerry but cash was low. I just mainly want to fluting. Did you do that work yourself?

I does my own stuff! Rem700 bolt, fluting on bolt doest need to be deep, from .015 to .02" is very adequate. 1/4" end mill round nose!

I am offering PTG fluted bolts in both spiral and straight. Yes, they are shallow but look great.

Since this comes all done at a great price, it didn't make sense to work on customers bolt bodies with a higher overall cost.

Just remember that factory bolt vary in material thickness so going too deep can break through exposing the interior which is not good for all weather function.

Spiral fluting is more cosmetic then functional.
