After watching one of Riflechair's videos on Milsurp rifle care I decided to take his advice. I was ready to Acetone my newly acquired M14 stock by removing the old finish and give it new life. After watching one of his videos on YouTube he said try to preserve the oils still within the stock and apply straight linseed oil for a first coat available at a craft/hobby store. After drying then add Boiled Linseed Oil. I thought I would show the results after I cleaned up the stock with mineral spirits and then added a coat of Linseed Oil.

I think I will leave my Norinco in this stock and find another receiver to put in my M1A build. I can't bring myself to part this one up with only 29 rounds fired from her.

Thanks guys!! A little more work and some coats of BLO it will be good to go. I may pick up an LRB receiver for my M14 parts kit. Still on the fence with that though.
