Thanks to all who gave me advice on a .338 lapua rifle

After posting that I was looking for a semi-auto .338 lapua, I got some excellent advice and feedback. After reading some good info I was talked out of searching for a semi and went for a bolt action sako Trg42, now just need to find a folding stock and a quality optic. I'm thinking Schmidt and bender or leupold, and my budget for the optic is 3-5k.....

Yeah... as much as I LOVE Leupold (and I DO love my Leupolds)...

They're just not in the same league as Schmidt and Bender. Go S&B if you have the money - you won't regret it.

You should also consider the Preimer Reticals line-up of scopes. Not as well know but they are AMAZING. I like mine better than I liked my S&B PMII.
Good choice on the rifle. You will be pleased!

Another vote for S&B.There are no better scopes out there.
Mil(CM) clicks with mil reticle is the best way to go.

trg's are great guns, only prob is the folding stock will cost more than your S&B

You should look at NightForce scopes as well. Really good quality with excellent glass.
I have a 8-32x56 and I love it
