thanks

Spend the extra $50 and get a CZ P10 (or p10c, or SC). I bought an SC last month for $550 and have since sold my M&P 2.0 and Glock. The CZ is incredible at any price, and the fact that it’s one of the cheapest options is almost too good to be true.

I picked up a CZ P10F from the LGS for $550. It’s quite accurate and feels good in the hands. Mags have been a pain in the butt to find though. My next 9mm will likely be a glock or sig.

I would suggest that you not buy anything until you have had a chance to handle, and preferably fire, as many different pistols as possible. Doesn't matter how great a gun is, if you aren't comfortable with it, it could be a waste of time and money.
A good used piece can be very cost effective.
People will ask for a round count when buying used. For years, I have shot M&Ps. I have no idea how many rounds have been put through them. But I know how much Titegroup I've bought - well into a second 8 pound jug, at 4.1 grains per shot - so my pistols are, well, experienced. Performance remains excellent.
Personally, I suggest you look at M&Ps, Gen 5 Glocks, Sig 320s.
I also think that you should consider an optic, or at least a pistol that is optic ready.

I am going to echo a few others and say look very hard at the CZ P-10F or SC. SC was available at Italian sporting goods a sight sponsor. I have both a P-10F and an SC and prefer the feel to a glock. Just sold my 17 for the SC and got cash in my jeans in the process!

I have a CZ P10F, great pistol for the money (think it was $550 new). That said, go to a store and feel them out. I initially was going to buy the IWI Masada, but I tried it next to the CZ and I just preferred the CZ.

I used to hate taking my hat off at italian. I just checked and they , like many others, seem to only have the F model of CZ.

The race is down to Glock 19 with MOS for future old man eyes (very close to this now!) and any CZ compact I can find. I'm going to recheck all the site sponsors, but I think I missed the boat on those for a new retail unit. If anyone spots one, feel free to shoot me a link.

Thanks everyone for your opinions! I can't believe you've ran that many rounds through a M&P. That speaks for the reliability.
If you are walking in to Italian then I’m going to assume you are a Vancouver guy. If you are a Vancouver guy, then I will extend an invitation to try out a bunch of pistols before you buy. If you are willing to drive out to Chilliwack on a Saturday/Sunday, you are more than welcome to join us. You can try a variety of pistols including Glock, M&P, CZ and a few more, feel free to pm me if you are interested. When I started shooting handguns I was offered the same opportunity and always appreciated it :)

The wife and I have a couple 9mm.

Girsan MC28 - Great first 9mm. I have zero issues with accuracy, and the trigger seemed to break in after a few hundred rounds. I now have maybe 2k rounds through it with zero issues.

Canik TP9SA - Wife bought this last May and loves it. Better trigger then the Girsan, and slightly better accuracy than the Girsan, but I find it hard to distinguish much difference. I definitely prefer the Canik over the Girsan but it's a couple hundred $$ more.

CZ Shadow SP 01 - DON'T try a friends out. For me at least, the CZ Shadow is so far above the Girsan and even Canik, it's not even funny. However, it could be that a heavier SA/DA works better for me.

Recommendation: Nothing wrong with the Girsan, and if you want to spend a bit more, the Canik is definitely the way to go.

Tenda $339.00

Amazing accuracy for such a terrible trigger pull. But put a few hundred rds. through it, and it smooths things out.
