thanksgiving weekend hunt: 308 or 30-06?

I wuz wonderin what you guys would use for the traditional Oct long weekend hunt. I think I'm going to go for deer.

I'm either going to fly out to Ontario and have 10 guys and their dogs try to scare'm out in the open for me. Or maybe I'll stay in BC and road hunt in a big assed 4x4 driven by my buddy Bufus with lots of twinkys and beer. Hard call eh? but I just got paid so moneys no object this weekend.

So what would you guys use a 308 or an oTT six?

In this case, I think the 30-06 gets the nod.

I was thinking ot six at this point too Gatehouse. But I'm not sure I'll rule out the very efficient 308 just yet. I'll see what some of the others say just to get some regional variation before I commit.

Oh, and it looks like Ontario is out. The girl at Westjet says she doesn't know what a 308 or 30-06 are and I can't take beer on the plane either.

If it was Ontario for whitetails, I'd vote for the .308 Win. Now that it's home here in BC, you'd best take the '06 just in case you have a run-in with Squirrelzilla And you'd better make sure those cases are stuffed full of powder and topped with nothing less than 180gr TSX's Have a great hunt

I'll be out with my 308 tomorrow, but the likely most used gun will be my SXS 20 g shotty as the primary quarry is grouse.
