Picked up a moss 500 receiver with aftermarket hogue pistol/fore grips on EE for a good deal. Had an 18.5" barrel sitting around. Bear/home defense covered. Got some sling mounts and sling on order. Should do the trick.

so is this for defence of bears in the home?
Or defence in case a home tries to attack you while your in the woods?

Lol always twisting words aren't we people? I meant home and bear. Home for the most part. Bear when I'm out hunting this fall. Mostly I was just happy at getting a good deal and having IMO a cool looking shotgun. Though I really would love a DA mag fed.

I like it. What's your go-to bear/home defense load going to be? I would assume some 00 Buck or slugs? Would be interesting with the pistol grip... Might not want to be on either end of it.
 
Ya skoals is nice! As for loads I was looking into "00" reduced recoil shells. Slugs would be sort of useless for home defense IMO. For hunting defense I would be going for slugs. Not sure if they make a reduced recoil slug shell but that would be nice as Long as it could match stopping power.
 
Oh I assumed you were. No worries. Yet to fire it ad have very little exp with pistol grip shotguns w/o the stock so should be interesting. Gonna take er out this weekend coming up and get familiar with er so I can use it effectively. Try out some slugs. Hunting loads. Etc....

Nice shotgun ezekielz. You'll have fun with shooting slugs through that thing trust me lol.
I actually got my wilderness defense / multipurpose shotgun last week. It's an HP9 with a DLASK Arms 8.5" barrel, railed fore-end and a Knoxx stock (not the recoil reducing version).
That thing has got some kick to it lol, very fun to shoot. You should see the muzzle flash when you shoot 3" slugs, at this point it's pretty much a fireball :rockOn:.

Hey skoal is that the Magpul XTM on your shotgun? If so how do you like it?
