WAIT A MINUTE.... you mean to tell me that the notorious Amphibious is a just another transpanted EASTERNER:eek:
Never mind an easterner....but an OTTAWANIAN HOME OF THE LIEBERALS BARELY OUTSIDE OF QUEBEC JUST THIS SIDE OF THE EAST COAST EASTERNER....
WELL NOW thats a horse of a different color now isn't it.... I will no longer hear Amphibious's words with the same clarity... I will no longer have the same mental picture of the mighty Phib proclaiming that easterners are lessers with righteous indignity from the mountain top... I will no longer be able to say I have debated with a real mountain man... I feel so dirty...:(
Does your mom know you have forsaken your true heritage Phib:p

really. (get a rope...) :)

I wouldn't worry about him too much. Any easterner that can survive in Prince George - one of the few places in BC that hangs onto and cherishes the Hill-Billy mentality - must be OK.

...........and to actually be injured by a camel makes him a "caribooster" in my book even though PG is a bit north of the 'boo! (One must research the history of the Cariboo Gold rush and the part that camels played in that to fully understand why ;) )

I gotta run really quick but: I read in a book where the differences are truly shown with bear baiting.

Eastern Canada has denser forests and clouded visibility so it is much harder to put the sneak on a bear. While out west the spot and stalk is favoured because of the increased visibility!

anyways the hip ####in rock, and i was gonna post the lyrics too but west beat me! :/

so where is the dividing line between the guys that only count the points on one side of a deer rack and those that count them all (to make their deer sound bigger i guess)?

How much of this east/west thing stems from watching CFL or NHL? Hell, we're supposed to hate the Oilers down here but I'm cheering them on, screw the media, and I think hunting white-tail with dogs would be a blast.

YES!! Hunting with dogs is a blast. Haven't done it since I was a teenager. They don't allow dogs on Manitoulin, but boy does the old ticker start to pump when you hear those dogs come baying through the bush, then the brush starts to crash and when that big buck pops out of the bush ---. Shot my first deer this way. Remember every second like it was yesterday. We have to be tolerant of different traditions and cultures. I got s**t on big time on another board for mentioning that I shot a grouse on the ground. Still smarting from 99 flames. Some people did try to defend me.

:dancingbanana: this thread never ends :D

as per usuall it seems Gatehouse and BigHead know f**kall about Amphibious ;) have to go a little farther east to find "home". Bighead, you're from Brampton, you have no room to makefun of those from Ottawa, how's cousin brother? take the wheels off his house yet?

(and it;s a pic of BigHead doing his favorite thing Gate_House, Trolling)

Seems like the fellas that are the most rabid haters of the east are the ones that ran away from here in the first place.:(

yes, ran, as fast as we can from that cesspoll of an over populated province :D as a tribesman would flee from an ebola plagued village...

it's not that I hate southern Ont folks or that I think it's MY moose or whatever else because of living in the North. It's that all the old hot spots where the locals all used to hang out are getting flooded with folks from down south to the point where the locals dont even wanna go there anymore. That's what bugged me anyway. and alot of the Non local southern folks (not all) tend to be very disrespectful of people. they trash cabins and leave garbage all over the place and they never wave to anyone, they wouldnt help you out to save their life. they walk around like they are blody rambo sporting the brand new $15 000 quad and the $40 000 truck etc and while thats all well and good, it's the the fact they think they are better then you cause they have all this stuff and they are from Toronto that just makes you wanna smack that pair of $300 sunglasses off their face.

same problem is happening in BC as well. all these folks from Vancouver flood the Northern areas. same disresepct thing going on as well. why does everybody and their dog have to go to the same spot?

you must be mistaking someone else for me....my trucks 11 years old..i dont have a quad...my sun glasses are a pair of burning glasses i borrored from work..the only big money item i pay for my yearly moose hunt......
is the money i leave in your town...were i get my supplies and butchering done....i drop off on average a 1,000.00 a year..thats just me,the ones come up with me spend about the same..

I was raised in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) worked in Oshawa. Peterborough area has been my home for 20 years. Never lived in Brampton... but I drove Snowplow there for a couple of winters.
I am moving to Alberta in three years... as soon as my lady gets enough points to retire... maybe sooner. We have lots of family and friends in the west... and I can't wait.
I hope I don't forget that I am just a regular guy or where I come from... but that ain't likely because I am quite comfortable with who I am. And my roots are nothing to be ashamed of, and certainly nothing to ridicule!

I started this thread in the hopes of reminding us all that we are all the same people, fighting the same fight, living our lives with miles between us but connected by the Canadian Gunnutz Forums and our tradition of firearms and hunting.
I am still hopeful.:beerchug:

:D well well well :D

you do its like a provincial pasttime out here to rib the eastern guys :p

now the trick is don't let it get to you  because it if does they won't stop

I had a neufie on my crew who would do the same thing to BC guys, he was relentless once he got a hold of one who would react.

I hear ya woodchopper and I enjoy the light hearted ribbing. I think you will agree that there is a difference between funny and anger or ridicule. The point I am making is, that if it we are divisive and dismissive regionally within the shooting community then it becomes detrimental to our image as a whole.
I think we do a relatively good job of promoting our sport most of the time, but our image is part and parcel of our acceptance by the non shooting public. This forum and board is an incredible vehicle to get our message out.
Marshal Macluhan said it best..."media is the message"... and I think this media is our message.

ah, another "don;t hate us" post from bighead, never saw that one comming.

I think we do a relatively good job of promoting our sport most of the time, but our image is part and parcel of our acceptance by the non shooting public.

personally I find most fo the problem comes from the east. the public sees hunters sitting over barrels of donuts waiting for yogi, in heated blinds over food plots, or by timed feaders waiting for a deer to step out. lots of technology rich "hunting". High fences, canned hunts. managed heards. this doesn't do much to support the "hunting is my way of reentering the food chain" or "I want to get back to nature" arguments made by those trying to keep the sport alive. yes we have our road hunters out here, and it is an efficient way to hunt. but at least they're out in the boonies, where it is still evry much a wilderness.

if everyone agreed with everyone else this board would be the most boring place on the internet.

another reason to stay west of the 100th:

Your agenda is crystal clear Phib... and it isn't the betterment of the sport. In one sentence you portray eastern hunters as nothing but baiters and pen hunters... then you justify western hunters who road hunt.
You go out of your way to flame threads from many of the eastern members who don't buy into your phony "I am the best from the west twaddle"!:p
If you think you can intimidate me with your obvious personal attacks you are mistaken. You are not a proponent of the sport... your are a detriment.
Keep on hacking though I love the fact that you prove my point with your feeble rejoinders.
How about some puking smileys that seems to be the measure of your debating skills.

Just for once I would like to hear the truth from you... say it out load.
